Hi,
I have a question for you: when you update RadioDJ version on your streaming PC, how do you keep your stream alive?

I have another pc of course. I have cloned the music directory on a usb drive (different letter), so I relocated the directory on the new and local db which can run on his own. When I stop the main pc I link to him with Teamviewer and stop the streaming about 30" before the song ends and, at the same time, I start streaming (activating encoder, processor and program) on the other pc. Most of the time the mixing is smooth, sometimes no, but I can survive with that  :D

Same goes for updates or what do you do when your internet connection has downtime... always keep sure that your stream keeps on running. If that works, you can install a second copy of RDJ, configure it, stop the old one, start the new one. If there is a database update, make a database copy, update that one, and start the new one running.

lol, just plugin an ipod or some other music player, send the audio output from the ipod to the streamer input, so your encoder is always sending some audio signal to the network audio distribution server and then do your updates or maintenance, etc. and it's not the end of the world if your stream goes quiet for an hour. peace out

I have a backup audio feed at the Transmitter site.  It's a Rack Mounted MP3 Recorder/Player.  The main audio feed and the mp3 player are connected to an A/B audio switch (has web server).  When I need to take the RDJ Server down, I just log onto the switch and switch it to the MP3 Player (continuously playing a 24 hour loop).  I have to keep the loop updated or otherwise some stale spots or psa's will get played.
