Automated directory import...

I'm wondering how easy it would be to have RDJ automatically perform a directory import? Either through a plug-in, or an event action?

We have a need to import shows from the logger for repeat playout the following day. We have an event set to play the shows but it would be really handy if we could somehow get RDJ to scan the folder and import the shows itself.

I suspect it's probably asking too much and I so wish I'd taken the time to learn how to code!

Ah crap! I see the feature has already been requested, sorry guys.

So, as a conclusion, the plugin should behave like this:
1. Allow user to map directories to specific subcategories
2. Delete from database any nonexistent files from those subcategories
3. Import new files if any
Seem simple enough  :)

For our purposes we can use a downloader to grab the mp3's and stick them in the correct folder, all we need RDJ to do is scan and import the contents on the folder so that they can be picked up by an event and played out at the correct time. So yes, what you're proposing will do the trick.

I feel a very well earned beer coming your way Marius..

Awesome :ok:

If you are ready on the 1.6.1 version you have a serval years no work to do!  ;)
Very curious exactly how the new version in total will look like. It was a lot as established automation systems.

You rock Marius!

Any word on when this one is likely to be ready Marius? Hate to hassle but I have people breathing down my neck...

Any word on this plugin? I run an un-manned radio station and this would make the software usable for our purposes as we sftp in a new news loop every week and need the software to just play the most recent file in the folder.

Please disregard the previous message. Tracked it down.
