Please can anyone confirm if Sound Empire Caster is Windows 11 compatible?
Hi Gary, I have extracted the zip folder of v1.2.8 in Windows 11 into a new folder C:\SECaster and run it from there (Direct from folder, not an install)
As it creates the additional folder 'SECaster128' within that, technically the extract should only need to be pathed to the C: drive.
I've set up a stream from it, and also received the stream ok :-)

Thanks Derek you're a star as always... I cannot afford an Windows 11 machine right now I'm sticking with 10 for now

my windows 11 crashed and was not booting anymore, with much pleasure i went back to windows 10. I don't see any interesting reason to use windows11 for now.

Thank God none of my computers are Windows 11 compatible, and one of them I even regret upgrading to Windows 10.

Micro$ofts policy of "you can revert to the previous OS in the first 5 minutes" is BS

Windows 10 isn't as evil as people think it is providing you tell a few services to shut up and stop Cortana taking over then the PC works nicely I've even found a way of stopping updates

I have zero issues running RadioDJ on Windows 10   :bash:

I've been telling windoz security to NOT search a folder or specific file and it just ignores my instructions and continually deltes the file as a virus (usually as the program is starting up). then I have to go into windoz security and tell it to ignore the file and restart the program

Hi all, in my simpel tests (to be confirmed by stress tests) it seems that V1.2.8 is prone to not restart streming in case of connection problems or server problems. The V1.2.7 seems more robust on "auto restart" streaming.

Currently we are using the V1.2.7 due to this reason.

Anyone else noticed this ?

RFU

I'm using the latest version, but I've been using SECaster for years and never had a problem with any version

Look at the Sound Empire configuration SECaster.ini file and set auto=0 to auto=1 save and restart the encoders should then start and connect automatically

Me too. But with the version that I use in my desktop, video card lags sometimes.

I can't seem to get the "listeners count " to display. Only shows (0).
Can anyone help with getting that to work?
Thanks
Gary

Are you using a Free shoutcast host? Some shoutcast providers don't allow listener counts I know GetStreamHosting
which I use doesn't allow external listener counts

You'll have to ask them why your listener counts aren't showing in the encoder I don't why or how but some providers block stats
