RadioDJ v2.0.3.4 Beta Released!

This release mainly fixes some compatibility issues with the latest version of MariaDB. MariaDB uses utf8mb3 charset as default for utf8, which is incompatible with DOT .NET Connector from MySQL. In order to make it work, when installing latest version of MariaDB, please DON'T check the UTF8 checkbox on MariaDB installation, otherwise it will continue using utf8mb3 and will cause errors.



Other than this, there were fixed many reported bugs, which hopefully will make the experience more enjoyable. 

Please do a clean install to test it. For now, there isn't a conversion database scheme to the previous versions. Also, if after installing and a database backup will be restored from the previous versions, more likely will cause errors, so please do a clean install and don't mix new files with any from from the previous releases.

Most important changes:

- Added auto-refresh to search results when importing tracks or folders [NEW];
- Migrated application and plugins to .NET Framework 4.8;
- Migrated application to BASS.net 4.4.14.1;
- Migrated application to MySQL connector 8.10.11.0;
- Fixed compatibility issues with latest MariaDB version;
- Fixed miscellaneous reported bugs;

Strange behaviour already detected:


I remove Aux players, Song details, and Carts from the plugins directory  as soon as I restart RadioDJ it recreates those plugins back in the plugin directory..

I deleted them again and restarted and the plugins came back and they didn't remember the zone they were supposed to be in.

Hi Marius, thanks for the new release. I have installed the latest version on a Windows 10 PC, Maria db version 10.5.10 and a new database so far so good.
The problem I have is that the categories Music, Sound Effects, Sweepers etc. etc. do not appear. Only Artists, Albums, Years and Uncategorized appear.
I tried to insert them manually from Radiodj Configurations, Categories but it doesn't accept them. This way I can't import any files.
Did I do something wrong in this new version?

Hi Gary, i supose that RadioDJ is closed while removing the files, right? I removed those exact plugins with the program closed and never appeared again.

@Music Box: i suppose you enountered some errors during database setup and the categories didn't got populated. Did you got any message from the database setup utility?
Later: i didn't found MarisDB 10.5.10 to test on that exact version, but i installed 10.5.13 X64 version and the categories are all there.



Also, make sure that you don't use utf8 on MariaDB when installing it.

Hi Marius, I have reinstalled the software again, everything is now OK. There must have been some problem with the previous installation. I apologise. It seems to work with Mariadb 10.5.10 as well.

Yes thats the strange thing I shut RadioDJ down after changing a few settings and deleted Aux Player etc... and I was watching the 2034 folder as the splash screen fired up and the plugins were back

There are zero clues in event viewer


Its got me stumped other than that i cannot see anything wrong bar the first column header being blue on search and history i can't see much else wrong


Just tried again even made sure the recycle bin was empty. Bang the plugins reappeared.

I've transferred 2034 onto my main playout PC and the issue with the plugins isn't happening on that machine so I'm stumped as to whats actually causing  those plugins to reappear.

  As you suggested to do a Clean Install and start from Scratch.  Which is more Fun.
Using MariaDB latest 10.6.5 and away we go.

I'm being a rebel I'm running 2 instances 1 with a fresh database and one with the 2030 database and so far there haven't been any issues with the old database (touches wood)


You know I like to test these things

I can see a database rebuild coming on at some point anyway my current (2014 year not version) database is a mess there are tracks all over the shop.

Hi Gary, me too as the thought of redoing all the intro cue points nearly reduced me to tears Database in use under test is same as we use for v2.0.2.0 - 2.0.3.1 and as with yourself, no issues yet.

It still does have the same issues with any item being edited or looked at from within the current playlist area then being skipped (we use list view if that makes any difference) and the rotation changing from that displayed if edited in Track Rotations to the last worked on, but not selected.

(I've also been running a separate test with the same database on Windows 11 and again no issues so far.)

I'm interested to see if the internet stream loss not going to next item problem is one of the fixes.

Hello,
I've installed this version and updated the database from 2.0.0.6 and it works flawlessly so far. It was needed just to rebuild the rotations.
Even i deleted Audio Processing plug-in (because i am using a third party software for this purpose) i noticed that the default sound of this version sounds a little bit more processed than the previous ones. I suppose it's related to the bass library update.
