  installed MariaDb and uninstalled MySQL so I'm trying to restore save database but it only loads half way did a repair through HeidiSQL still the same hmmmmm?   any ideas  well off to work thank you for the help

Hard to believe its 3 years this month since I took the plunge and installed MariaDB rather than MySQL from Oracle.

It has to be the most stable piece of database software I've ever used... Only had to repair it once in 3 years (after a power cut)

RadioDJ just chugs along day after day lining up some amazing tunes that I would never have thought to put together back to back.

MariaDB you rock!

I just love it when software works it cuts out all the stress.

Hmmm its almost 7 years since I first installed MariaDB 

I don't know about anyone else but I cannot remember the last time I fired up HeidiSQL to do any maintenance on my database which is also 7 years old and still going strong its grown through time and been updated to several different RadioDJ database upgrades since then


I don't know why anyone uses Oracle MySQL its awful compared.

Just taken the Plunge and updated to the latest MariaDB 10.8

So far so good everything went swimmingly while upgrading I will report back IF I notice anything amiss

Had RadioDJ running for  a few days (not constantly) BUT I cannot see any compatibility issues with the latest Beta and MariaDB 10.8

I'm seeing ZERO errors and everything seems to be running just hunky dory

I'd love to hear if anyone else has taken the plunge and upgraded.

Just an FYI: The database will NOT install with v2.0.0.6 with MariaDB 10.8

8 years this month since I first discovered MariaDB as an Alternative to MySQL community server.

In 8 years I can't remember actually having to do much to the database little bit of light housekeeping and backing up data every day MariaDB hasn't spluttered or gone wrong

The latest 10.8 with the Beta version isn't skipping a heartbeat.

Installed like a breeze, however MySql still refuses to install on my PC so still cannot open Radio DJ

You don't need both programs Just MariaDB will do  now connect the Database setup to your MariaDB server
