Hej Ronald,

Check if you have any errors in the Windows Event Logs. You might get an error message like:
#1: Subcategory ID: (number of the category) cannot provide enough tracks to complete the rotation! (too large value for track/artist separation? Rotation item was skipped!.

Testing now for a while, everything works like a charm (but I did not have any problem even with V2.0.0.7). Great job as usual Marius!

I think i found the problem.

When i upgrade from RadioDJ v2.0.0.5 to RadioDJ v2.0.0.8 then i have the problem what i wrote.
After install RadioDJ v2.0.0.6 to RadioDJ v2.0.0.8 and the upgrade the database 2.0.0.6 TO 2.0.0.7.sql there is no issue.

It's look like there is a issue between the upgrade from RadioDJ v2.0.0.5 to RadioDJ v2.0.0.8. and the
Database 2.0.0.6 TO 2.0.0.7.sql doesn't works!

Database 2.0.0.6 TO 2.0.0.7.sql doesn't works!

That sql file is creating two columns on the songs table "ttitle_played" and "talbum_played", which are used by AutoDJ. The queries from the 2.0.0.6 TO 2.0.0.7.sql update file are working correctly, you can test them also with HeidiSQL and no errors should occur (as long you don't already have them in your database). So the problem is your case is from elsewhere, either at a point you missed a database update, either you mixed the RadioDJ files between versions, or a crashed table from your database. It's hard to diagnose it over a forum, especially with the small amount of details you gave us.

Are you talking about "Newest From Folder" track type?

No, I am talking about tracks I have moved from a folder to another.

Sorry, but next time please write CLEAR AND DETAILED what you want, because no one can guess just by reading fragments what you mean. And don't worry if your primary language is not English, we are from all over the world, but that doesn't stop us to communicate if there is a bit of will.

In fact, I expressed myself badly because I talked about a plugin and I should have said "utility". This is "Relocate tracks". Clear, now, I hope!
Title: Re: RadioDJ v2.0.0.8 Released!
Post by: Jhonny on September 22, 2018, 02:23:45 PM
Are all your tracks in one directory and divided into sub directories?
Like:
d:\ music
d:\music\90s tracks

Than select d:\music in Relocate tracks.
Title: Re: RadioDJ v2.0.0.8 Released!
Post by: onair on September 22, 2018, 02:35:20 PM
No, I copy and paste a lot of tracks in a temporary directory, because I import the folder. Then, I erase the copied files and I relocate tracks in the originary directory. Example: Files are in folder "Songs" or "Jingles", I copy and paste 10 of them in folder "New files". I import the folder, then I erase files in this directory and I relocate tracks in original folder. With this version, RadioDj doesn't find files. I hope I was clear.

Since 2.0.0.7 and now 2.0.0.8 I have 2 problems

Track rotation is wrong
When I start RadioDJ, the track rotation runs fine.
The next time a track rotation is loaded, it does not start at track #1, but further down the list.
When I restar RadioDJ, the track rotatotion starts at track #1 once.
I noticed the new option to show only a certain number of tracks in the current playlist might have something to do with this. When I set it to 40, it shows 40 tracks, even though my rotation is 33 tracks. When I set it to 10, it shows 10. I think I saw 33 in version 2.0.0.6, but I am not sure.

SQL tracks are not loaded
All sql tracks are skippe d in any rotation.
Manually running the sql inside the track shows up the correct track(s).

I ran the update sql successfully from 2.0.0.6 to 2.0.0.7.

This is exactly what this function should do, and it works correctly in your example! In older versions if you set 33 tracks you should have seen 66 tracks in your playlist.

Yes exactly. So now I think that the rotation in the old version worked because the next song after 66 tracks is #1.

In the new situation, suppose I have 40 tracks in the playlist and 33 tracks in my rotation. It loads 33 + 7. Then when I load the rotation later on (after loading another rotation), it starts at track #8.

I verified this by setting the number of tracks in the playlist to 33. This particular rotation then works perfect. Other however still have that problem.

So my suggestion would be that when you load a new rotation, it should always start at track #1.

I think you are using rotation in the wrong way. If you need that track #1 is always the same, build and use a playlist (with an event). I use rotation to load a new random playlist.

That does not work when you need 'load track from category' or sql statements

When I "load track from category" I load just one track either a random one or set.

@absoluutfm: the rotation will be generated from start (first rotation item) and cycle as many times as required to have the user specified items in the playlist. When needed to generate again, it will not start from the beginning, but it will resume from where it stoped.

In the previous releases the playlist was generated by complete cycles of the rotation.

Thnx. Would it be possible to implement that old feature again as an option? For example as an argument in events)

Also, what about the missing sql entries?

Installed 2.0.0.8 and running without issues for just under 24 hours on my test box upgraded from 2.0.0.6 with db update to 2.0.0.7 and then straight to 2.0.0.8 (current).  Rotations load and change and events all firing as they should.  MariaDB64bit on Win 10
Thanks Marius

Yes, first you have to update from 2.0.0.4 to 2.0.0.6
To update from version 2.0.0.4/2.0.0.5, simply run the installer, no database changes are required.

Next you have to update from 2.0.0.6 to 2.0.0.7
IMPORTANT:
To update to this version from v2.0.0.6, you MUST update the database as follows:
In Database Setup utility, go to "Database Utils" and "Database Update" section and select "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.6 TO 2.0.0.7.sql" file to update the database.
After the process is completed, you can start using RadioDJ.

Last is to update from 2.0.0.7 to 2.0.0.8
To update from version 2.0.0.7, simply run the installer, no database changes are required.

It is up to you if you want to update are not. But there are some significant changes in the new version 2.0.0.7 / 2.0.0.8. See the changelist in this post http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=12265.0 (http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=12265.0). Version 2.0.0.8 you have to install because it has resolved some errors and issues of version 2.0.0.7

So far so good RadioDJ hasn't thrown one error since i fired it up over 7 hours ago, I have tested with other rotations and things appear to be working just fine.

It was just a blip in otherwise well programmed software...  :bash: I'm still hoping my database wasn't corrupted (but i don't think it is myself) otherwise 2.0.0.8 and 2.0.0.6 on our other PC wouldn't be running smoothly.

Moving from version 2.0.0.6 to 2.0.0.8 will be possible without going through 2.0.0.7 since 2.0.0.8 fixes problems in 2.0.0.7
Should exclude this possibility
it's not possible ??

First you have to update from 2.0.0.6 to 2.0.0.7 because of the database update.

Next you have to update from 2.0.0.7 to 2.0.0.8

Any news on this issue with the sql entries not showing up?

For both issues I write a VBS script to generate playlists where you could use rotations before, when a rotation consisted of exaclty the number of tracks in your rotation. With this script is is again possible to a) play sql tracks and b) 'rotations' with a fixed number of tracks and always starting at the beginning.

This script can be used to play an automated request top 10 or a TwoFer. PM me if interested and are able to customize a VBS script to your own needs.

Hello

Windows 7 x64 with SQL

Upgraded  from 2.0.0.6 to 2.0.0.7 updated DB

Then installed 2.0.0.8

Now 2.0.0.8 is laggy freezing and it takes about 30 seconds to clear playlist and relist

Restored 2.0.0.6 works perfect and if you clear the playlist on 2.0.0.6 it would refresh instantly

Nothing in the event log apart from Interface Error #ApplyVolumeFades: BASS_ERROR_ILLPARAM

Tried installing just 2.0.0.7 acts the same way very slow freezing

Found this in Event log

ERROR: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.

Any ideas

RDJ is generating this error a few times per hour in the event log:

QuotePlaying Info plugin Error #004: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Title updates seem to work as they should. Should I worry, though?

Found the issue. Remove all the Repeat Rules in Track Rotations

To get your jingles running as you wish WITH repeat Rules is to label your jingles  as individual elements so RadioDJ can see them properly.  Example:  JingleA - Good Afternoon..., JingleB - The Best Hits from...., JingleC - Only NonStop Music..... etc.  If you just title them all the same as Jingles then they are treated as ONE Artist and won't separate and repeat properly.  They are ALL THE SAME (Artist called Jingles in the title).   This has worked for me very well as each individual audio element is now labeled individually.  Worked since the 1.60 days without issues.  Hope that makes sense.

Cheers

mmmm good advise, I will try it in my rotations. I must say I always named my jingles "Jingle" and then "title" and it worked, except as I mentioned in another post, alerting about a bug about rotations not respecting the rules http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=12337.0 (http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=12337.0)
