Title: Teaser - Help!
Post by: bazclack on May 27, 2014, 03:02:05 PM
Can someone explain what the teaser plugin does please? If its what I think it is (looks at the next few songs and produces a quick "taste of things to come") then it'll be amazing!

Many thanks

It's awesome!  :D

Just make sure you set the 'Hook in' and 'Hook out' points on the tracks you want to preview in the Cue Editor  :)

Awesome.. Just awesome. Many of the bigger radio stations have this feature and this is supposed to be a 'highly advanced feature' of the most expensive radio automation software around (Dalet, Omniplayer, etc) and we have it right here on RadioDJ!

To me, Marius is a hero!

Can someone post or email a clip of what it sounds like for me? I'd like to have a go but want to see what others have managed to produce from it so far. Thanks.

You need the HookIn and HookOUT and a intro.

Can using an event.
I use a hotkey on the keybord

Hi -

I love the Teaser,  however, I was trying to use the "Intro", "transition" in the teaser setting but it did not load.

I was trying to test using one of the "Jingle" as intro for teaser.  I'm not sure it is right, please help me how to use the "Intro" for teaser.

Thanks

Danny

Hi Jhonny,

1. I created the folder on c: drive for teaser
2. I created Category called "Teaser" and subcategory "Intro, next and end"
3. Import teaser into Category teaser
4. Modify the teaser plugin option and specified "Intro and Trans and End, just like your screen print.

The one that I don't understand what you mean is the event.  Where do you go to add the teaser into the event?  I created an event and selected Plugin Action and also select for dry preview. It works for the teaser, but it did not the load the intro of the teaser.

When I select "Generate Playlist Preview: Generate Preview for Current playlist" - nothing load, no teaser and intro. Please see attached.

I tried it, but nothing load.  Therefore I create a shortcut to manually Generate Preview for Current Playlist, but I got the following errors:

This is a coolest plugin in radiodj...

But a feature request, Marius! :) If it's not big problem.

I can set the teasers number, so the plugin puts teasers randomly to playlist. But it would be cool to set the plugin, to set the next song's teaser.
The commercials are come with an event at RadioDJ, and would be nice to put a teaser before commercial break, which song will be come after the short break, but at this moment, the program puts the teasers randomly, so at this time not sure is the next song's teaser will be played by the plugin. Can you put this function? That would be nice before the breaks (news, commercial, etc.)

That's weird: before my commercial break, I do a teaser-insert (so the playlist I had still stands, it just inserts the teasers, commercials and jingles, etc) and it plays in the correct order. My Rotation is set to Least Times Played; perhaps the plugin doesn't actually read the playlist (which I can't imagine) but I'm sure Marius can explain what it does under the hood.

Tip: don't clear the playlist before loading your teasers and TOTH-things, just insert them on top.

I think I get what molnarb83 means, in that the "ORDER" of songs in the teaser plugin, don't follow the same order as they are being picked up in the playlist??

If so, maybe this could be an option in Plugin....total songs selected "x" and then play found songs as either "Play songs in Order" or "Play songs at Random"

Hi Everyone,

Can someone help me? or point out what I did wrong?

I created a shortcut to manually Generate Preview for Current Playlist, but I got the error.

However, if I created by using the "Dry" playlist, it works just fine.

Thanks,

Well then I guess you do not have the correct settings, a start, next and end sweeper / jingle.

J.

PS. I have one folder and three subfolders created in my library miziek
called
teasers
- start (sub in teasers)
- next (sub in teasers)
- end (sub in teasers)

And it filled them.

And in options >> categorys
In main
Teasers and in the sub start, next and end.

Well those look perfectly fine to me. I also have those categories. I found, however, that if you select an empty category in the plugin (Teaser>Trans for instance and you don't have a Transition-sound in it), it doesn't work. My transition sound is of the Sound Effect-type by the way.

Hope this helps.

Hi J and Rogier,

Thank you so much for your help.  I got it to work.

J - Thanks for helping with the configuration and the format.

Rogier - Thanks for point out the problem that we MUST have something in all three phrases (Start, Next, and END), otherwise it will not work.

Danny

It... shuffles the tracks, so the tracks preview it's not played in the order of the playlist.

Would there be a chance to add a option to stop the teaser playing the same transition teaser, twice in a row?

Example using your downloadable Audio Files

<start teaser>
<music hook sample>
<transition 4>
<music hook sample>
<transition 4>
<music hook sample>
<transition 3>
<music hook sample>
<transition 1>
<music hook sample>
<end>

As transition 4 is the same, it kinda sounds wrong playing it again so soon.

They are retrieved randomly from the database using MySQL order by RAND(), so things like this can happen. I will search a way to fix this in future versions of plugin.

Check the transition cue next point. Make sure that it's not very close to the cue end.

So I check the Transition cụe - it does not have the next start point.  I added and saved, and closed ịt  But when I go back in, it doesn't save .

I'm not sure why.

I also noted that the duration is not correct, I had 3 transitions, 1 says 0 second and the other says, 23:30 seconds.  I'm not sure why.  I also deleted transition from the database and added back again.  But it shows the same thing.

Check the transition cue next point. Make sure that it's not very close to the cue end.

Make sure that in options is active the "Remove Silence" option, and try to import that file again.
