Title: Plugin Say Time
Post by: Marius on December 05, 2012, 10:39:10 PM
Thanks to Kevin from Demented Elf Productions, which gave me the right to use their voice files, i quickly developed a small plugin for the current time.

Unzip files to RadioDJ directory and restart rdj. A new action will be available for events in plugin actions. Also if the plugin is assigned to a button in main window, when pressing that button, will announce the current time.

The plugin is using the sweeper sound-card and it's acting like a sweeper fading down the main player for the duration of the announcement.

Works great Marius!  Tested with events and also put the plugin in Slot 5 too and instant time.  Cool

That would be a good idea Bogointeractive.  I can think of a time check going BEFORE a newscast for instance.

Event actions:
- Add Track (the background you choose) On Top
- Play Next
- Plugin Say Time

This is the most you can have from it. Having it exactly after the track ends at the exact hour you choose is too much, because i don't expect to have future releases of it.

Build 7 was compiled with Bass.Net 2.4.9.1. The plugin needs to be recompiled with that version.

I am using 1.6.2 with  Bass.Net 2.4.9.1., got say time working.  Is there a way to add say time to a track rotation? (or add an event to a track rotation for that matter)  Or a way to make a say time event play AFTER what is currently playing is finished?  I don't have a need to give the time in the middle of a song.
Title: Re: Plugin Say Time
Post by: 704djs on February 15, 2013, 09:14:56 PM
you can add the say time by going to the event  click the + tap then go all the way to the window that popped up you will see a plugin tap click that and you will see the say time in there and that how you set it up with the event

Yes...that's how I got it to work.  I set up the event as your described, but when the event time occurs, it gives the time, over what is playing.  It doesnt load to the top of the rotation.

And, yes, I am aware that my website was hacked.  I have removed my url from my signature.
My home recording studio computer was taken out by a massive power surge, and I am currently dealing with the power company on liability. (A surge protector and my Dishwasher were also fried)  I can't fix my website till I get my stuff back up and running.

Thank for any help you can offer

It's looking for the old Bass.Net 2.4.6.4. I think there is a newer one for Bass 2.4.9.1, but I'm not sure as I don't use this plugin.

If someone could verify - ?

Title: Re: Plugin Say Time
Post by: Marius on March 29, 2013, 06:11:30 AM
No, it cannot be played as a sweeper and i don't think it ever will.

To tell you the truth i don't get some requests for this plugin. I worked in a few fm stations, i listen many radio's from all over the world, but i NEVER heard somewhere time announce to be played as a sweeper, or in a rotation like someone requested. I mean, it would be annoying to hear the time announce on every x tracks. Not to mention that on internet you may have listeners from different time zones.

+ 1

I removed all traces of this plugin from the RadioDJ folder as i can't see what if any purpose it serves. It's like having a computer generated voice which is in some other software and that makes the program look unprofessional and it sounds naff.

DJ Garybaldy - you could always record your own time stamp tracks so its in the voice of a presenter from the station...

Marius - using an event to trigger the time check, it plays straight away, no matter where in the currently playing track you are. is there a way to add to the top of the playlist instead? that way you could schedule a jingle, a time check and then back to the rotation?

Hi Marius,
in the future do you think you could do a SayTime Plugin that sets different time zones that says, "at this time in (name city) are the hours ....". would be very innovative.

1. tinir,
2 manual do evento saytime (encontrado nos eventos do menu superior).

The plugin is already in the downloaded RadioDJ package "RadioDJ\Disabled Plugins\Plugin Say Time".
You must copy "Plugin_SayTime.dll" and "SayTime" folder which contains the audio files to the Plugin folder and restart RadioDJ.

Sorry guys, I am very new to RDJ where do I unzip the files to? For instance I see a SayTime folder in the zip file do I unzip this to the plugin directory?

Sorry for the stupid question.......and if it's been asked before I didn't see it in my search.

No.  I've noticed several people here had the same problem.

I did find out, if you put the command in a manual event and pause the playlist, it will read the time properly.  It's when you try to click on it directly that the minutes repeat.  It's a bug.

Have setup say time in rdj.
Made 2 manual events and button set. 8)

Manual events:
1. say time.
2. say time pause playlist.

Button set:
3. Button changed in options - options - other settings to say time.

In the events:
1. Decreases the sound of the playing track and tells the time, sound of the track goose up.

OOOOOPS in the mid of the track.... >:(

  2. sets AUTOMATED TO  ASSISTED then decreases the sound of the playing track and tells the time, sound of the track goose up, sets  ASSISTED  TO  AUTOMATED.
The ooops, play button strangely is activated  ??? new track is started.

  3. No problems, decreases the sound of the playing track and tells the time, sound of the track goose up.
