Changes List:

- Added custom column displaying in plugin search [NEW];
- Fixed bug which allowed sweepers to be played even if the start/end date should disable them;

HOW TO UPDATE?

DO A DATABASE BACKUP FIRST!

METHOD 1

1. Replace all your plugins (.dll files) with the new ones
2. Replace RadioDJ.exe with the new one
3. Replace PluginInterface.dll with the new one
4. From the English language folder copy "Track List Fields.xml" to your language folder
5. Open "Database Setup.exe" located in Setup folder, select "Database Utils" tab and press "Select Update File" and choose "update to 1.6.4.9.sql" to update. [VIDEO TUTORIAL ABOUT APPLYING UPDATES (http://www.radiodj.ro/tutorials/how-to-apply-an-update-to-radiodj-database.html)]

METHOD 2

1. Unzip the new version somewhere on your HDD
2. Delete from the new package the settings files (they are named like settings_XXXXX.xml).
3. Copy all files from the new package over your old files in order to overwrite them.
4. Open "Database Setup.exe" located in Setup folder, select "Database Utils" tab and press "Select Update File" and choose "update to 1.6.4.9.sql" to update. [VIDEO TUTORIAL ABOUT APPLYING UPDATES (http://www.radiodj.ro/tutorials/how-to-apply-an-update-to-radiodj-database.html)]

The update process is VERY important and running RadioDJ without it will lead to errors.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong or it's a bug in this new version, but I'm not able to add new songs without loosing existing songs... I'm using the "Options / Directory Import" option. After a first scan of all (sub)directories (named as genres) I tried to rescan only the "dance" folder because of new added files. Now it scanned the whole "dance" directory again (instead of only incremential) what takes ages again. Furthermore it replaces the whole song DB with only the "dance" songs  :(

I tried to re-import a folder and nothing strange happened. Maybe you checked the "Clear Subcategory" box on import?
Title: Re: RadioDJ v.1.6.4.9 Released!
Post by: neverever on September 29, 2013, 02:30:58 PM
Ok, I'll check that! If you re-import a folder it is flying over the already existing files, right? So it takes not a long time to do it?

I think the next one, I have noticed is really a bug: In our rotation after every 5th song there is a jingle scheduled to play. But the jingle is getting queued sometimes correct (after 5 songs), but often also after 3 and then after 6 songs. We're using always the same jingle (1 file, 3 seconds) Are you able to reproduce that issue?

Btw: Could you check my user "neverever" in the bug tracker tool? I was able to register but it's not possible to login now. I've never received an activation e-mail or something like that...

You may have less tracks, if a category doesn't contains enough tracks to sustain your artist/track separation interval.
More tracks, i don't see how is that possible.

Please find our rotation setup attached... Jingles do not have "Repeat Rules", so it does not matter that we use the same file every time, shouldn't it? Please let me know if I should create a separate thread for this...

Looking to your rotation, you have 6 songs between the jingle, so your maximum is normal, not 5 like you've mentioned.
When the jingle is added sooner, like i already wrote, entries from your rotation are skipped. You have to make sure that you have enough tracks and artists for each entry in your rotation to sustain the value you've set in rdj options under track/artist repeat interval.
It's definitively not a bug! To see that i'm right, enable the error log and check the windows error logs and you will see that you have rotation items skipped.

und with the rotation - so yes here it's 6, before that it was 5. You're maybe right with the too early played jingles, but what about the skipped jingles?

I made a test setup now 1x jingle, 2x song, 1x jingle, 2x song -> the result is 1x jingle and then only songs, no more jingles :( look at the screenshot...

Unfortunately I couldn't find the right place in the event viewer where RadioDJ is logging its errors. Could you give me a hint, please? :)

Even if you disable repeat rules, the track is checked if is already in playlist, so if you have only one jingle, you can get only one jingle with the same artist/title per rotation on the main playlist.
Change the selection type to random for the jingle. That's the only case where the playlist is not checked, or make multiple copies of your jingle and rename them differently.

Hello,
I'm trying the 1649 and I think "load rotation" in manual event does not work.

I have prepared a manual event called "Rotation" which loads the default rotation.
Gave himself that I'm using to program the playlist entire sectors of the day, programs, music, news, everything inside, I thought I'd pull in a rotation for a few spaces still empty.
In playlists builder add the Event Rotation.
The playlist loaded in the main interface is perfect, the event EVENT - Rotation charging well.
Upon being played disappears EVENT - rotation, does not load any song, and go to the next file in the lineup.

I hope I was clear in explaining.

Marius, Radio DJ is always more surprising.
Working on the code of the playlist builder, adding, for example, the start time programming and viewing the time increment of the file in the list, I think it can also be used as a daily schedule for the programs, news etc..

One small thing I've noticed

On the now playing export to web function in 1.6.4.9. it won't allow you to put a Password in.  :bash:

The simple fix for that was to go back to the now playing exporter from 1.6.4.8. and everything was exporting as it should.

Other than that everything is working great.  :ok:

In latest version of Web Exporter, the plugin is working a bit differently:
When the output is set to auto, so no custom data is set by the user, you can specify a password.
When you set the custom data variables, the pass field is bypassed, because you can specify your password in the custom data field, for eg:

xpwd=mypass&title=$auto_title$

I find this way more secure, because you can set the password variable name that will be passed to your script, instead of using everyone the same variable name (xpwd).

I just update to 1.6.4.9 from 1.6.4.8. I can't seem to stretch out the title or artist column in the search window. I can only read the first few letters of each. Did I do something wrong when upgrading or is this how the search window is supposed to look?

Go to Options -> Plugins -> Song Search -> Settings and uncheck any field you won't need then click OK.

That should do it.

Hi Mauro,

The rotation event action will not generate files ever. It does only what it says, it loads a different rotation for Auto DJ.
As you've noticed, the rotation is generated only when the playlist runs out of files, but in a manual playlist won't have any effect beside loading the rotation you've set in event.

Head scratching time again.  :bash: I had RadioDJ running absolutely fine yesterday for around 8 hours. Now today when I go to fire up 1.6.4.9. it keeps freezing and (Not Responding) on me. Nothing whatsoever in the error logs. Nothing changed on the windows box.

At first I thought it might be the encoders so I changed encoder plugins over for the nested ones and still the problem persists. So I'm genuinely at a loss.

Anyone else having this issue?

I'd roll back to 1.6.4.8 if it wasn't for the DB changes.

You can roll back if you need, the db changes won't affect the app in any way.

Didn't make a jolt of difference only thing i can try now is system restore I think a windows update may just be at fault.

Rolling back to try again.

I'm starting to think there is connection packet loss somewhere between here and our servers. When the encoders are disabled RDJ fires up str8 away.

Glad It isn't a RDJ fault (as such)

Hi Marius

Any fix due on the sweepers crashing over songs with no intro (after dragging them onto the song in the playlist)?

Haven't updated yet but wanted to chime in, just wanted to express my utmost happiness with your software man. I switched from sam broadcaster and have not looked back. I was VERY hesitant at first, but this has made my life and station so much better/streamlined.

Keep up the amazing work and keep the awesome updates coming.

Thanks again!!!!

I have just updated to this version, its really useful to be able to customise what comes up in the search tool, especially being able to see when it was last played
