Title: RadioDJ v2.0.0.1 Released
Post by: Marius on January 12, 2018, 07:10:47 PM
CHANGES LIST:
- Implemented recording function (based on lame.exe) [NEW];
- Implemented auto scroll on playlist builder drag & drop [NEW];
- Implemented auto scroll on main playlist drag & drop [NEW];
- Fixed button buttons instant update on color change.
- Implemented recursive folder scan for Sync Folders plugin [NEW];
- Implemented toggle between 5.1 and stereo style vu meters (click on them to toggle) [NEW];
- Fixed Smart Timing events;
- Fixed rotation queries which added tracks with sweeper everytime;
- Other small bugs...

VirusTotal Report (https://www.virustotal.com/#/file-analysis/MjUzMTE2MmU4ZGRkNDY1MjA0NmZkNGNmZGNjOGM5MjU6MTUxNTc4NTYyOQ==). As you may see, this time no virus alert, just one score alert. Score is calculated by the usage spreading, so nothing to worry about.

From this version the program will be released with an installer, it's a bit more work for me, but it will be easier for the users to update the program because the installer is set to not overwrite any XML setting files. Also when uninstalling XML files, logs, reports and backups will NOT be deleted.
The installer will ask for the destination folder, so it's easy to install on any desired path.

HOWEVER, this will update only the standard structure, if you moved some plugins from the "Disabled Plugins" folder to the Plugins folder, they will not be updated, so be sure to replace them with the new ones after the installation over the old version.

The database is the same as v2, so no changes required for the v2 users.

PS: In "RadioDJv2\Disabled Plugins\Plugin Rest Server" there is a basic http://android application (http://prntscr.com/hzkx70) which allows a few remote control options.
The application was made with MIT App Inventor.

NOTE: Before doing anything in the program after installing, please go to settings and set EACH sound card, otherwise the program will not work and it will unable to import files.

It's a false positive. Avast created a lot of problems for years, if you search the forum you will see.
I posted the virustotal report in the first post.
Before releasing i also scanned with Kaspersky 18.0.0.405 with updated definitions and with Windows defender. None reported any issue.

PS: Searching by your message, i got here: https://www.itsupportguides.com/knowledge-base/windows-10/windows-defender-smartscreen-prevented-an-unrecognized-app-error/ (https://www.itsupportguides.com/knowledge-base/windows-10/windows-defender-smartscreen-prevented-an-unrecognized-app-error/)
If you read that you will see that (quote) "Each time an application is ran Windows 10 will check if it is a "good" application against their catalog of applications." so if it's not a popular application will display a message.

Thank you!!

I implemented the functions of the old recording plugin which was so praised around, so no, you can't select the bitrate. For recording events, try to download the installer again because i updated it.

Awesome Marius! :cool:

Loving the new version. I have not made the complete switch yet because I have to find a solid solution to my setup but I am setting things up and running/testing each station using BUTT and VB Virtual Audio cables.
My current setup is that I run 3 stations and each has 2 encoders, one for the website and one for the apps.

I really think the MB Recaster is nice but it looks like only 1 can run per PC.

Bless you sir, RadioDJ has been the most fun and most rock solid radio automation software I have ever had the pleasure to work with over the past 15 years. Trust me I have tried them all!

I ran Sam Broadcaster for about 12 years and when I finally took a real good look at RadioDJ 3 years ago, I fell in love with it. I still provide remote support and programming for Sam Broadcaster users but my personal pick is RadioDJ.

Having the color scheme option was a plus for me because I can now customize each station and give them each their own "personality" and it makes it easy for me to know which station I'm working with too. :) That's a lot of fun!

Not sure what you have planned for the pro version but I'm in!

No complaints, it's PERFECT. Thank you! Upgrading a remote system to 2.0.0.1 and testing it for use during some hockey playoffs this weekend.

We've been testing the new release all day and its not blipped once seems to be a rock solid release from what I can see. :ok:

Switched from Virtualbox to VM-Ware as Virtualbox was causing us major audio issues, I'm not exactly impressed with VB right now.

Marius,

Can we get a Standalone Encoder forum in with the version 2 forums where we can group all the support stuff for this? Encoder topics are scattered all over right now.  ;D

I'd imagine this would be a no all stand alone encoders are 3rd party (Not Written by Marius) so Marius can't put a forum up for other software. He already ditched the A******t forum because that wasn't his software and it was breaking DMCA rules

You'll have to sort out any issues with stand alone encoding software by yourself or posting on their software forums (if they exist)

We've got enough to deal with  having the new releases of RadioDJ to deal with at present as it is.

AUTOMATED / ASSISTED button.

On AUTOMATED track after track is playing.

On a restart of Radiodj it's on automated only the button shows ASSISTED.  :hihi:

The living room broadcaster has spoken.

Can we please get an opinion from Marius as those of us who are actual broadcasters have a need for this?

Or do we stop taking this software seriously?

Here we go again  :D
For now there is no way to write a FREE encoder that will not violate the DMCA rules and i can't ignore them, sorry.
The only way would be to force the encoder to use only free formats (like ogg) and no, it's not that easy as shipping the streamer without the patented format support, remember the problems i had with aac patent holders.
I'm opened for suggestions, but at the same time the best way i see is to use standalone encoders, so the user is free to choose (or buy) whatever encoder wants.

Marius, I'm not saying you need to include an encoder. It's just that, because people need to use an external encoder, it would make sense to have a support forum to consolidate all the questions that are coming up around this. They are currently scattered all over. It would provide better support for RadioDJ users than what exists now.

Would you consider creating an Encoder forum in the 2.0.0.x group where those of us who are willing can support other RadioDJ users with this?

I actually love the sound of ogg and it works in most browsers too. I'm currently using it at http://www.RealPeopleTalkRadio.com (http://www.realpeopletalkradio.com)

streaming on Icecast v2 at: 56kpbs 44100hz

Oh yeah, it doesn't work on mobile devices. At least it hasn't for me.

The "Always Ontop" bug still persists as reported previously in version 2.0.0.1. With it enabled you can not get to settings windows or other windows that open behind even using ALT + Tab

Hi!
;D
I found that when you duplicate an event in the "Events List", the copy gets the value of catID "0" in the database (events table).
Can you change it so that the copy gets the same value as the original?
As things are now, you manually have to edit the duplicate and change the "Event category" and save before it stores it with a correct catID value.

options >> options (settings) >> stream titles == File type titles.

In front of  $artist$ - $title$ remove Track:  and click on the flopy to save.

I'd pretty much say v2.0.0.1 is stable and performing as it should at least it is here  everything seems to be smooth and its automating brilliantly.

I've not had a major issue since I installed it

Time for the weekend I'll be streaming tunes using it all weekend.  :ok:

For those who don't like that they need to have external encoder, I would say my opinion - I have no problem with the external encoder. For years (10+) I use Winamp with Shoutcast Plugin to take data from the soundcard main output and to connect to the Shoutcast broadcasting server. It works perfectly and it is absolutely stable. For some time, I used the Shoutcast plugin directly as DSP plugin in RadioDJ, it worked well also, but from the experiences "from life", I realised, that it is not always the advantage, to have the encoder built in the same software which is playing. The main problem was, when RadioDJ has to be restarted, then also the encoder was shuted down and restarted. This is not always the good idea. Because in the meantime, when RadioDJ is shuted down, there maybe another "backup" software, which is feeding the stream by the "backup" programm. So, from my point of view and my own experience, the external encoder is only an advantage.

In any case, thanks to Marius to the new version. Good job!

What is my bigger issue than the external encoder (which I have and I am satisfied with) - unfortunatelly, I didnt' tried the RadioDJ 2.0 because putting the version 2.0 into production will take in my case a long time - because the new version is not running on Windows XP - for me that means, to reinstall minimally 3 computers completely - so I need to reorganise the studio first, most likely to install new computer for only broadcasting and the current one let for the rest as it is now (I have there installed many of the sound and video software, which was even never tested on W7, because I need not any new and uncomfortable versions of my old and stilll fully functional software, like Cool Editor, Adobe Premiere, Nero, some DVD makers and many others). Then I will have to reinstall (or change) the main broadcasting server. It will take some time, but it is a challenge for me :-)

I will inform here about my feeling from the version 2.0 later, I am very happy and looking forward to try it. :-) Thank you!
