Title: RadioDJ v2.0.0.4 Released!
Post by: Marius on June 18, 2018, 07:31:00 PM
Changes List:

- When adding a rotation item from music category, the repeat rules will be selected by default [NEW];
- Plugin History: when disabling the listeners display, will also hide the listeners column from history [NEW];
- Implemented volume control in plugin SayTime (in settings) [NEW];
- Plugin SayTime audio files must now reside in Plugins folder under "Plugin_SayTime" in order to improve folder structure logic [NEW];
- Plugin TTS template files must now reside in Plugin folder under "Plugin_TTS" in order to improve folder structure logic [NEW];

- Plugin SayTime contains now two event actions (one to play the current time normally ("SayTime") and one to play the current time with lowering the music ("SayTime VO")) [NEW];
- Implemented delete from drive in Tracks Manager [NEW];
- Implemented in Tracks Manager bulk change for mood, gender, language and rating. [NEW];
- Implemented in Tracks Manager duplicate display for imported tracks (by "Artist - Title" and "Title" only). [NEW];
- Implemented mouse wheel navigation for slot mode playlist [NEW];
- Implemented speech rate in plugin TTS [NEW];
- Implemented volume control in plugin TTS [NEW];
- Implemented adding stream tracks in history for streams that are publishing the artist and title [NEW];
- Fixed event types "Repeat by Date" and "Repeat by Date And Hour" bug which didn't saved the date when adding a new event;
- Fixed columns size being too wide bug in track manager;
- Fixed user management bug which prevented to load sweepers if not logged in;
- Fixed user management bug which prevented to load tracks in aux players if not logged in, but allowed to load not imported tracks;
- Fixed option buttons color style for mouse over;
- Fixed bug which didn't refresh playlist display when adding tracks to the playlist using REPLACE option;
- Updated the ADO.NET MySQL driver in order to support the new MySQL 8+ server [NEW];

IMPORTANT: Due some differences between the old and new version of MySQL ADO.NET driver, some fields types from the database required changes, so an update file for the database is provided in "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql". Without this update the new version will not start! This update must be applied only if you are using v2.0.0.3, otherwise if you are using v1.8.3, you must apply first "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\1.8.2 TO 2.sql" and only then "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql"

To update to this version, close the program, run the installer which will copy the new files, preserving your settings, then start the Database Setup utility and if you're using the new MySQL server, check the SSL option, otherwise leave it unchecked.
In Database Setup utility, go to "Database Utils" and "Database Update" section and select "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql" to update the database.
After the process is completed, you can start using RadioDJ.

As always, create a backup before starting to do anything!

WOW!! ???

Impressive list of changes and updates there, looks to me like you need a well-deserved break for a while and I, for one, have no objections. ;)
As always, great job Marius! :cool:

Something strange is happening:
I'm using HeidiSQL on the PC for updating from 2.0.0.3 to 2.0.0.4.

I do get an error: ERROR: the host 127.0.0.1 does not support SSL connections (MySQL server is offline)

When selecting the SSL box MySQL server is online, but I'm unable to open RadioDJ.

I will have to look in it what seems to go wrong.

What version of the MySQL are you using?
UPDATE: yes, it was a problem in Database Setup Utility, the SSL setting is inverted somehow. Changing now...
UPDATE 2: this should be also fixed...

I too have a problem:

I do get an error: ERROR: the host 127.0.0.1 does not support SSL connections (MySQL server is offline)

When selecting the SSL box MySQL server is online, but I'm unable to open RadioDJ.   :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

I use mariadb

That's the problem He-j explained. The fix is to download again the program, which is containing the fixed files.
Title: Re: RadioDJ v2.0.0.4 Released!
Post by: He-j on June 18, 2018, 09:34:27 PM
Everything seems to work fine now.

First I had to uninstall the new version 2.0.0.4 and had to go back to 2.0.0.3 and restored my database. After that I installed the new version again and I can open RadioDJ without any issues.

Looking forward to explore the new and improved/fixed features.
Nice job Marius  :cool:

UPDATE:
in options the settings are all default after the update to 2.0.0.4. Do you have to set them manual?
As in previous updates do you have to to add the disabled plugins in the plugin map?

Could you check the Settings in Options. Do you also get default settings are do you get the settings from the previous database?

Awesome! Is it possible to migrate from 2.0.0.1 direct to 2.0.0.4, or do I need to upgrade the versions in between first?

Cheers.

From 2.0.0.1 the procedure is the same as for 2.0.0.3 :)

thank you Marius for this new update!

I tried my lab machine, I did the upgrade, but SayTime doesn't work. Do I have to do anything else?

Back up the database, run the query to go to version 2.0.0.0.4, RadioDJ is running normally but SayTime does not play...

Stay tuned! Thank you!

Music Box, if you mean tracks, in this version the file/track functions didn't changed at all, so the problem must come from elsewhere (eg. the hdd was in sleep mode and rdj couldn't find the files)

@Music Box Thanks for the reply

Don't no why that the settings got lost. Just entered them manual (only took 4 minutes). Directly made a backup.

Hi Marius, the files are all present in the tracks manager, but they do not sound. I can not drag them with the mouse into the playlist styles.
Now version 2.0.0.3 sounds perfectly.

Or is it standard set to zone 3

Hi Gary, i suppose that you are using "close to tray", because that the only way i can trigger that error. In the downloads page there is the new version of the database setup utility (v3.7.3.3) which should not have that problem anymore.
If you confirm me that the problem is fixed in that version i will update the installer too.

Thanks!

No worries.  ;)

Marius, I'm sorry to bother you so much with small things, but now the SayTime works, but the time indicates it as if you were editing the files or not letting them finish, for example:

"It's 7:00 in the morning | with 35 minutes."

And it sounds like: "It's 7:00 in the morningwith 35 minute."  (with "S" missing)

Sounds like the announcer is in a hurry to tell the time.... For the moment I'm going to see if I can silently give a few thousandths of a second to the minute files so that they don't sound so close together or together, but I don't know if it will end completely (minute by minuteS).

Thanks!

Thanks so much for this update, I'm really looking forward to testing it/rolling it out.

Can I ask, did you manage to implement disabling/enabling the audio processing plugin in events?

Andrew.

Does this just apply to mySQL or do we need to update mariaDB in the same manor ?
And thanks for great software.

Only check the SSL option when you are using MySQL 8.

Read the first instruction of this post. It's this part:

Concerning this part:

In Database Setup utility, go to "Database Utils" and "Database Update" section and select "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql" to update the database.

You have to execute that for MySQL and MariaDB

AFAIK MariaDB is supposed to be getting SH256 support (I'm not already sure if they've implemented it in the latest versions or not) I'm using my MariaDB on Linux and there hasn't been an update for that in a while so I'm still connecting without SSL.

The latest version should be 10.3.7 which i'm using on a second PC.

You don't have to use the SSL setting for that.

I know very little about web site programing and such but the new version of MariaDB 10.3.7 says
"The embedded server library now supports SSL when connecting to remote servers."
Is this the same thing or something else.

I know very little about web site programing and such but the new version of MariaDB 10.3.7 says
"The embedded server library now supports SSL when connecting to remote servers."
Is this the same thing or something else.

The only thing I encountered when installing version 2.0.0.4:
ERROR: the host 127.0.0.1 does not support SSL connections

This would mean that the current version of MariaDB (10.3.7) does not support SSL connections.

Marius and everyone else:

I have a couple of problems. After loading RadioDJ v2.0.0.4 and reinstalling the TTS plugin, I can't move the TTS window from frame 2 to frame 3. It won't open in the plugins under configuration. What am I doing wrong?

Also have problems with the Time Announce. If I set it up to announce the time as a stand alone, it does not wait until the previous event finishes. (It runs over the middle of a song.) If I set it up to announce as a voice over, it doesn't work. (The old version called this "Pause Playlist".) Again, what am I doing wrong? (Yes, I changed the name of the folder to "Plugin_SayTime".) I did find the volume control for Time Announce in the Plugins folder and that works very well!

The rest of the program is running smoothly on my production computer, but I'm not going to load it on the on-air computer until I can get this resolved.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Ok thanks He-j, I have learned something today  :)

I've found a bug!

In carts/instant plays, when I click an empty cart whilst I'm not logged in as admin, I CAN add a track to a cart.

In 2.0.0.3, doing this would give me the "You don't have access to this feature!" alert. In 2.0.0.4 I don't get the alert and I can modify the empty cart.

It only seems to affect empty carts though. Any carts that are already populated are still locked and trying to modify them brings up the "You don't have access to this feature!" alert.

Andrew.

@plauri, that's the error that comes up if you don't update the database.
I was actuallly wondering who will post it first... ????
My mistake was that I updated the database as described, but then I reloaded the old backup db made with the old V2.0.0.3 and that caused the problem. I unistalled v.4, reinstalled v.3 and worked: did it 3 times, then I realized what was wrong...  :bash: :bash:

I'm also playing with SayTime and the old one doesn't work, I mean I had set a short bed with "next", but the voice starts in the end when the new track has already started. As Chip says if set as VO (no voice at all).

Hey Marius, does anything need to be done as far as the plugins from the disabled folder of the new version?

By the way, I made no changes to my SayTime folder and it worked still on my test system. I have a folder inside the plugins folder named SayTime with the audio files in it. The event action was the same as it was on 2.0.0.3 Say Time/SayTime and it still worked that way.

I will try it as you have pointed out to see what happens.

****UPDATE: Okay, I see I had to use the updated SayTime plugin from the Disabled Plugins folder so I assume all the plugins need to be updated then.

****Update: The first plugin action for SayTime works after renaming the audio folder to Plugin_SayTime but the second action with SayTime VO is not working. The output setting is at 10.

I did update the Web Browser plugin and got this error in the log:

Code: [Select]

The Web Browser does not load now.

Ok, I must be missing something here.  Here is the process I used to install RadioDJ 2.0.0.4.

I always keep the previous version of RadioDJ working until I thoroughly test the new version.  I make a copy of the current operating version (2.0.0.3).  I then rename it to the NEW version (2.0.0.4) and then update that folder.

When there is a database update, I never overwrite the current one so I can still use the current version of RadioDJ.  I create a NEW database and name it the version of RadioDJ where the database changed (radiodj2004).  I then backup the database from the previous version and import it into the new database and run the database update utility (2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql). Then I fire up RadioDJ and off I go with my testing.  I have been doing it this way since around version 1.7.0 and have never had any issues, until now.

Version 2.0.0.4 will fire up and run (mostly).  The issues are, there are several categories missing therefore all of my files are not in the proper categories.  RadioDJ 2.0.0.4 loads the default categories.  I thought these were written to the database, therefore should come over when I restore the database and update it. But they don’t.  I do find the tracks in some of the default categories, so they are there and I can recreate the missing categories and move them.

The second issue I am having is my News comes from NPR internet feed once an hour.  When RadioDJ 2.0.0.4 hits the feed in the playlist, the file starts, then stops, and then shuts down RadioDJ.  The error from windows log is:

Code: [Select]
ERROR: The CommandText property has not been properly initialized.   at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.Interceptors.ExceptionInterceptor.Throw(Exception exception)
   at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlConnection.Throw(Exception ex)
   at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlCommand.Throw(Exception ex)
   at MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior)

   at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
   at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart(Object obj)

I am using MariaDB 10, on Windows 10 (1803 – 17134.112) on my test machine.  Everything is being run as administrator.

I have deleted RadioDJ 2.0.0.4 and the new database several times and reload everything with the same results. I have got to be missing something simple.  Stumped.

Hi FL Coast, i can confirm this behavior when dealing with podcasts. I'm working on it right now.
However, i wasn't able to reproduce the categories issue you reported.

I think what FL Coast reports has more or less something to do with the mistake I did: when you do the upgrade in the database utils "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql" that's all. You don't have to do anything more.
As far as SayTime and news played from a streaming are concerned, as I wrote, they don't work as in v.2.0.0.3 where I never had a problem.

Do you get any errors? Please check the logs folder and also the windows event logs and post the errors here (if there are).

Every time I run a news internet stream, radio dj crashes. Time to go back 2.0.0.3. otherwise, everything seems ok.  I see the issue was reported already, any status?

Awesome, thanks! will be on the look out. I noticed before with 2.0.0.3 when I scheduled internet news around or close to 12pm/am, say 11:55. After the news completes playing, RadioDj would just stop playing, and don't move to the next track. The only solution is to manually skip news or don't schedule around that time. Not sure if you can reproduce.
