Thanks Marius, now News work like before. Maybe even better I tested only once. SayTime is still a pain in the ass. VO doesn't start and the play SayTime works after the bed, not after the Next set in the bed. So it plays the time over the next song. I think the option (pause playlist) which was there before would do the trick, maybe...

Thanks Marius, the internet/podcast stream is working again...……...BUT  :)

In version 2.0.0.3, I created an m3u playlist that consists of 3 tracks, a song track, a 5 second jingle, and another song track. I adjusted the “next start” (using Temporary Edit) cue on the jingle to start the next track at about the halfway point of the jingle.  Works perfect in 2.0.0.3.

I built this same playlist in 2.0.0.5 and made the same track changes and then load it, the next start changes made to the jingle are ignored.  When I check the jingle track after loading, it has the original set points.

I rechecked the m3u file in the playlist builder again, the jingle still has the changes I made to the cue points using Temporary Edit.  When I check the cue points a second time in the play list builder, the cue points are gone.  I have to reload the track or restart the playlist builder to see the cue points, but they are back to the previous settings.

When you are in the play list builder and open a track in the cue editor and close then open that same track in the cue editor again, all of the set points a missing.  Reload the track and they are back, don’t make any changes, close and open the track again in cue editor, the set points are missing again.

If I make the changes to the jingle before it plays from the playlist, the set point change is still ignored.

This has not been an issue in previous versions, although I did not check this in version 2.0.0.4.

The time frame continues to give no indication of how much time is left to complete the podcast file

Just wondering.... Is the smart timing event feature working properly again, or should we still refrain from using it?

Hi,

just updated from 2.0.0.3 to 2.0.0.4 and than 2.0.0.5 but suddenly don't have an access to some parts of the program (see the screen, this happens when click on buttons such as Settings, Track Manger, Playlist Builder, etc.). Login: admin Password: admin doesn't work...

Any suggestions?

Did you use the update file from 2.0.0.3 to 2.0.0.4 or did you restore the database?

You should not restore the database, but use the file RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql to update.

Quote
IMPORTANT: Due some differences between the old and new version of MySQL ADO.NET driver, some fields types from the database required changes, so an update file for the database is provided in "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql". Without this update the new version will not start! This update must be applied only if you are using v2.0.0.3, otherwise if you are using v1.8.3, you must apply first "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\1.8.2 TO 2.sql" and only then "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql"

To update to this version, close the program, run the installer which will copy the new files, preserving your settings, then start the Database Setup utility and if you're using the new MySQL server, check the SSL option, otherwise leave it unchecked.
In Database Setup utility, go to "Database Utils" and "Database Update" section and select "RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql" to update the database.
After the process is completed, you can start using RadioDJ.

Works like a charm. Just installed after I backed up my styles and logo which it would be nice not to have it replace each time.  ;D Otherwise the 2.0.0.4 update DB was simple and done and we are rolling again.

What's the best way to do a clean install of v2.0.0.5. Can I do it with the new version, or should I start with an older version and upgrade to the new version?

I want to do a first-time install to test run the new version.

Thanks!

Run the installer to a new unused path, create and install a new database. Done.

You should not restore the database, but use the file RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\2.0.0.3 TO 2.0.0.4.sql to update.

Now it works (updated a DB and RDJ to 2.0.0.5), but if I want to add any track to play, get an error (see the log)

Marius,

I finally got around to doing that clean install on v2.0.0.5 and overall it works very well. A few problems:

1) I had to re-do the "next" mark on anything I voice-over, like music beds under a weather forecast. The system would play the entire music bed before starting the weather. Resetting them got it to work.

2) In order to do time announcements (both cold and voice over music), I had to go back and put the v2.0.0.3 Time Announce plugin into the v2.0.0.5 plugins file, then set them up as events. Works beautifully! I also didn't have to change the name of the Time Announce folder.  8)

3) Possible bug...I can't get the "Disabled" button to do any color other than green.  >:D

4) I'm having trouble getting the TTS function to run. For some reason, it's not reading my template file. Any thoughts on what I've done will be appreciated.  :'(

I love the font you used in the search feature. A lot easier to read than older versions.

All very very small things. Great job again, Marius! My station went on the internet a year ago today and it's still humming along!  ;D I'm going to run the new version on my production computer over the 4th of July holiday to look for other glitches, then I'll put the new version on line.

Is smart timing working properly on the new version?

Yes, absolutely works!  :ok:
Title: Re: RadioDJ v2.0.0.5 Released!

I loaded the TTS plugin from v2.0.0.3 into my install of v2.0.0.5 and it resolved both points 3 and 4 of my previous note...and the "disable" button changes color! While I'm sad that the new TTS and Say Time plugins don't work for me, I'm glad I got the program working properly. I moved it to my on-line feed 10 minutes ago and we'll see what happens.

Also, my main computer has temporarily died. I can't get the computer to reboot, so I'm not able to operate three of my stations, which I think I will allow to pass away with dignity. I'm running RadioDJ on my production computer, so I'm using that one for EVERYTHING until I can figure out what happened to the main computer.

Yes, [smart timing] absolutely works!  :ok:

OK, may possibly do the update then.  Anyone else finding it works properly without the previous glitch that smart timing had?

Cheers

Is anyone getting glitchy/crackly/popping audio with 2.0.0.5?

I've had to switch back to 2.0.0.4 was getting pops and clicks in the music for some unknown reason.

I'm not sure if its Windows 10 TBH they've changed the audio settings in that recently will be doing more testing to see if I can nail it down.

Between these versions nothing regarding audio was changed, so the reason must be something else.

Yeah i'm reckoning its a Windows issue... Like I said they changed the sound configuration in W10 recently and something has been niggling me ever since.

So far so good since the last proper reboot of the machine.

I haven't stepped up to 2.0.0.5 yet, but have been experiencing glitchy audio since the Windows 10 version 1803 update (April 2010) (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet) which occurred sometime in May on my system.

I get delays and stutters usually while listening to streaming audio with the VLC player and iTunes.  There's a neat little app called LatencyMon (http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon) to check your system for running audio suitably.  Mine has failed and I am now trying to track down the cause.

It could be due to the Windows updates in conjunction with the Meltdown and Spectre patches which are destined to reduce performance in the way our cpu's handle interrupt requests and other critical operations.  Or, it could be something else . . .  Sigh.  :-[ The wonderful world of computing.

I had a little disturbance and solved it by installing the generic High Definition Audio Drivers in stead of the Realtek drivers.

There are some blogs and videos about this issue.

Yep I'm already running High Definition Audio and didn't have an issue pre the Windows update that PackZap was on about....

Its definitely a Windows 10 issue believe me I know my sound settings inside out so those posts didn't really help any.

This is definitely Nothing at all to do with RadioDJ, The Windows 10 developers changed the sound settings over and its screwed my sound over ever since.

Its funny really i haven't heard a blip in the audio over the weekend  :bash: maybe Windows 10 is behaving itself at my end now (Crosses fingers) I'm hoping the next update for W10 will address the issue.

P.S: I've found disabling Microphone input might help that's the only change I've made to my sound settings over past few days.
