Title: The Big C
Post by: DJ Garybaldy on January 01, 2020, 11:28:32 AM
As I write this post I'm utterly heartbroken.

Last week my partner (Tech Monkey) was diagnosed with Cancer unfortunately there isn't anything they can do for him other than palliative care as its in his bones and lungs.

So I hope you'll understand if I'm not around much in the foreseeable.

I'm trying to keep a brave face on things BUT I'm slowly drowning and struggling. I've lost so many people to cancer its like a kick in the ribs everytime I hear the word.

No words can express - and although it may not seem like much I'm sure all who see this can only say Sorry, which I would hope to you and your partner an understanding, It's a big heartfelt Sorry that you've had this news and as many have said, you take all the time you need.

Right now I could use a hug... Tech Monkey was rushed into hospital last night, right now and he's not so good.

He's got some really nasty infection the doctors are doing sterling work treating him. This has all snowballed since the cancer diagnosis just 12 days ago..

I'm all over the place as you can imagine, The only thing keeping me from losing my mind right now is Music.

I guess I was hoping for miracles. Things have gone downhill faster than I'd expected.

They didn't happen my best friend and Husband passed away early this morning... Guess I'm going to need to have some time to grieve.

Don't forget to tell the person you love that you love them because you never know what's around the corner.

Life is sometimes hard when you know that saying goodbye is inevitable.
Stay strong, others around you will help make it a little tolerable.
When you are sad, think of the happy moments you have had together, it still helps me every day.

When you are sad, think of the happy moments you have had together, it still helps me every day.

Its thinking about the good times that's keeping me going so far today. You know we never had an argument in the (just under) 10 years we were together.

We were soulmates, We knew what each other was thinking at times. Its going to be hard without him but as you say and i've said to many a bereaved person. Its thinking about the good things that's gotten me through other deaths in the past.

I have so much stuff swimming around my head right now.

My wife pasted away on 6 January 2018, I will never forget the last dark evening with her in the hospital (palliative care).
I never had anyone so intense in my arms.
A day later she was gone.
Life can be hard,  you're right when you say, don't forget to tell the person you love that you love them because you never know what's around the corner.
This must be so hard for you, you are in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone I have so much stuff to get sorted its unreal. I never know quite know what life is going to throw at me next.

My website may eventually disappear unless I can find out how he paid for the VPS. I have no clue what to do when it comes to managing a VPS TechMonkey dealt with that side of things he was clever when it came to Linux. I hardly know anything about Linux commands etc...

Sorry Forrest Life ain't like that box of chocolates NOT by a long Chalk!

I'm coping but only just I sort the death cert and funeral out tomorrow.

I'm really sorry for your loss, i know it was a great guy as i remember many years a go that we exchanged a few mails, he was helping me with the database optimization.

We gave TechMonkey the send off he deserved yesterday. I'm currently at the stage where I'm waiting to see what happens next.

One things for certain I've got to learn more about Linux #WishMeLuck
