Title: Upgraded & Lost everything!
Post by: thetiger77 on August 13, 2020, 07:52:10 PM
Hello. I just upgraded to v2.0 and upon the upgrade none of my music or saved playlists are working--what happened? I can see the tracks and the playlists in the program but they do not play or function. I also attempted to reload a file of music and it still will not play.
I've upgraded before and never had this happen, is there a quick fix?
I hope.

are there any error messages in Windows Event Viewer for the RadioDJ application?
did you apply the database scripts during the upgrade, to add the changed db table fields to the db?

DJ keeps telling me to check windows event for errors..but when I do, there are none. I do not recall the upgrade asking me to apply anything to be honest, so I'm gonna guess I did not apply anything..but unsure.

Re save the rotation and events

The biggest problem is that it will not play any of the music downloaded in the track manager. Nothing.

It says, "An exception has occured, please see the Windows logs." But there is nothing showing for RadioDJ. Other music files, outside of DJ, do play so it's not the computers sound card. Maybe this version is not compatible with my sound card? I see some folks are having that issue as well.

Shutdown RadioDJ
Then right click on RadioDJ icon and choose "run as administrator "
This step is required so rdj has permissions to write messages to the winders events log system

Also depending on the version you started with, to the current version you have now, there were several steps that your must do to the database to get it to be updated with new table columns etc

So tells us your old version and how you did the upgrade
