Title: Making playlist (music rotation) question
Post by: tipexfm on July 04, 2014, 10:53:43 AM
Hello,

I've been using RDJ for a while and I think it's great.
But I'm a little bit confused with the music track rotation.

On my computer I've folders with different music tracks. For example, I've a folfer named "Morning selection", "Night Selection", "Afternoon chill", etc...
On another automation software I could import directly these folders and make music rotation with the mp3 files within these folders... so from 8AM to 12AM the tracks from the folder "Morning selection" are played, then from 12AM to 13h00 tracks from both folders "Morning selection" and "Afternoon chill" are played, then from 13h00 only tracks from "Afternoon chill" folder are played, etc...

In RDJ I've seen that I've to import the tracks to a particular music genre (60s Rock, 80s pop, etc...), but I can't load an entire folder (within different track styles inside it).
So what I'm doing is to import all the songs of one of my folder inside one particular category.
Is not possible to make music rotations with music folders or playlists?
Is not possible to create a new category out of the "by default" categories in RDJ?

Thank you! ;)

YES, IT IS.

Yes IT IS.

You can create a category from the folder  and name it whatever you want. Latter on, doing your rotations, choose just the desired category for the time you wish and RDJ will select only music from that folder. It's very simple. The detail you must have attention is the number of songs you have on desired folder and the repeat rules, where you specify the time restriction to repeat an artist or a song

You can use a event and load a playlist in it from a folder.
Then you can at different times load different playlist
or different day's.
grtz.
