How to play a podcast feed?

Because some users asked me how to play podcasts, i will try to explain the steps here:
1. Locate the podcast feed link. On most sites, they are marked with "SUBSCRIBE" and if you click the link a xml list should appear with all available audio files.
2. If the list appeared, copy the link from the address bar. This is the link you need to enter in RadioDJ. RadioDJ will always choose the newest file from that list.
3. Import it in RadioDJ: Video here: http://www.screenr.com/F4I7

Hello Marius,
the bed overlay should also work with the podcast?
if the answer is yes, does not lower the music in the background.
if not, then that's fine.
with a resident file works fine.
Mauro.

Marius

If the podcast is set to play as overlay, it should fade the playing file. At least here is forking fine.

OK
now I understand,
background music: Play as Overlay = checked
podcast files: Play as Overlay = checked
so it works well.

with the resident file you just need to:
background music: Play as Overlay = checked
and it works well too.

Big thanks Marius
Mauro.

Marius

Anytime Mauro!
Just a note, the background doesn't need to be set as overlay. Overlay means that the file will play over the other.

OK
I tried again everything.
I now everything is clear.
what is important is NEXT START on the file in the background and Play as Overlay = checked on the file below.

Excuse me, my English leaves much to be desired. :'(

works like a dream.

Thanks again.
Mauro.

How about playing a podcast from itunes?  Is this possible?  I can easily download the file from the artists' website monthly, but having the ability to have RadioDJ grab it FOR me would be great.  The URL link to the podcast doesn't end in rss.xml.  Any ideas?

Any suggestions?

The link you've posted it works with RadioDJ out of the box as a podcast.
The only problem can be the format (m4a) which needs a codec installed on your system. Windows 7/8 should have it by default.

Ahhh, now I see.  Okay... so it works on my WIN7 machine (for editing) but my main broadcast machine runs in Windows Server 2003.  Where in RadioDJ would I put a codec for that?  (Any lead on where I could get the m4a codec?)

Marius

The codecs are here: http://www.un4seen.com/bass.html#addons and must be added to the RadioDJ/bass_plugins/ folder.
Due the aac licensing system, i cannot release the program with those files.

THANKS Marius!  WHICH codec do I need?  Not finding a reference at all to m4a.  Isn't that essentially aac?

***UPDATE:  Found it!  Thanks again for all your help!

Hey Marius...

Another question... so I'm having issues w/ RadioDJ starting the podcast.  I have it in my database, and I'm loading via an EVENT [Event includes clearing the playlist, then adding a commercial and finally pulling the podcast to play.   Problem is, that the podcast files isn't loading via Event.  If I physically drag the podcast into the playlist it will start, but not via event.  Here's the RSS: http://boygeorge.podtree.com/feed/podcast/
