Weekly American Top 40 Charts

I've spent the last 10 years of my life compiling and posting the entire American Top 40 charts for every week in the rock era from 1955 (and working on 2007 to current).

I have a small group of guys working on these things nearly every day of the week to correct errors and make sure each chart is 100% accurate and complete.

So if you need a reference to all of the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's Top 40 charts, you can find them here: https://weeklytop40.wordpress.com/

AND, I have, what I call The Singles Chronology. This is a complete and accurate list of every song ever released no the Billboard charts in their chronological order from 1955 to 2013.

You can find those here:https://singleschronology.wordpress.com/

These are good for programming a Classic Hits, Pop/Top 40 station, even a Classic Rock station is you can weed through all of the chart entries to find your Classic Rock songs in there. But these offer a wealth of info you might want ot use on your stations. And best yet...

IT'S COMPLETELY FREE AND EASY TO USE!!!! You can copy and paste the charts easily to a Word file so you can refer to them when you are wanting to program music, or just wanting to look over the music of your past.

Enjoy it folks, and thanks RDJ for renewing my interest in broadcasting again. And if you enjoy the charts, please follow my site and keep checking back for new content being compiled.

WOW! that must have taken a while to compile?

I only really ever followed the UK charts, but  a site like this showing what was number 1 in the US on particular date is going to be great for some DJ's doing prep work.

Just in case anyone needs the UK charts archive I bookmarked this ages ago and forgot I had the book mark.

Thought it might also be useful for anyone compiling a chart show.

This is handy for the UK charts from the past. www.everyhit.com

Yes I'd forgotten about Everyhit.com that's generally useful for finding what was number 1 on a specific date.

Thanks everyone for visiting our charts. We are about 99% done, as there are really just typos and the lack of labels from 1984 onward. But mainly, these charts are 99% accurate and complete. But my former radio colleagues, and I are volunteering our time almost daily to get this thing off the ground. So please spread the word and please follow us to get updates.

And please feel free to write us and ask us anything about the charts, artists and their music. We will always respond quickly. We answer all questions as accurately as possible, and if we don't know the answer to your question, we try to find places you can go to maybe research your answers. And we will never charge for our services.

We hope to hear from you. Thanks everyone :)

(P.S.: And yes, the labels from 1984 to current are getting done, but it's just such a very tedious task and we're dragging our feet while we finish corrections and typos in the 1960's. The 1970's are 100% complete, accurate and correct).

Great source! I'm running an oldies station and I do a daily countdown at noon and midnight that features the top 6 songs from this day in a previous year. This really helps me put the countdown shows together. Check it out at jukebox927.radiostream321.com
