How to Update RadioDJ v2 from v1.8.2

1. Make sure that you are using a different folder for the new version, by default it is set to use "C:\RadioDJv2".

Be sure to check if Windows is not blocking files, please see this post before unzip-ing the files to the new folder. Right click on the RadioDJv2.zip and select properties. Now check Unblock and Apply.

Now you can unzip all files to the new folder ("C:\RadioDJv2\").

2. Open "Database Setup.exe" from "C:\RadioDJv2\Setup" folder and enter the name of the v1.8.2  database (the one that you will update) and click "Validate" button.

3. If everything is fine, DO A BACKUP first!

4. After the backup is done, go to "Database Utils" tab from Database Setup utility and press "SELECT UPDATE FILE" button. A prompt will appear which will ask to select the update file. Select "C:\RadioDJv2\Setup\Sql\1.8.2 TO 2.sql" file and database should be updated.

This will only work for updating from RadioDJ v1.8.2 which has all the required database tables. It will not work for older versions!

I've noticed that Bitdefender marks the file "radiodj reports.exe" as containing a virus pattern: Variant.Ransom.BlueEagle.1
Personally, I don't use the report tool, so I don't seem to have a problem with it, but others might.

Marius

I'm using a packing tool for the files and some antiviruses don't like that.

So, if I am using v.1.8.1, I have to update to v.1.8.2 first and then to v.2?

Did the download page get changed? I saw the ZIP and Installer options for V2 available yesterday and now I only see the installer option available.

Marius

The zip caused problems for many users, so i decided to remove it. The installer contains the same thing and it will ask for the path (the default one will be "C:\RadioDJv2").

I've followed your instructions, and for the most part it went ok.  However, V2 does not appear to load any types of tracks except one manual event that is part of my default rotation.  I generally have RDJ startup in automation mode and autoplay.  I'm not sure what information I should pass on to be more helpful (except, I have successfully restored my backup database so that for now I can revert to V1.8.2 in the meantime).

See a screen grab of how the rotation looks in earlier version, versus V2.0

Rotation= Liner / Song / Song / Liner / Special manual Event / Song

Same rotation only returns the Special Event (repeatedly)

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

Go into track rotations and refresh or rebuild your rotations

Also look in Tracks Manager for any Disabled/Not found tracks and re enable them.

Rotations look complete as before (ie. when going into the various rotations themselves, they show all the expected build contents)  I don't see the previous quick-selection of rotation, but assume that's just part of the newlook version, so access rotations through the settings/tools button.

All required tracks (hundreds of them) are enabled and categorised as expected.  I can manually add a music track to playout, so can confirm they can be located by RDJ.

Problem remains.

Hey guys, happy new year in advance, and thanks to Marius for the great gift...

I have a problem though.  The same artist repeats itself in a very short time (about 20 minutes).  Even had 2 Van Halen songs in a row.  I rebuilt my rotations in "track rotations", and put the same parameters in "options/auto dj/rotation rules" as I still have in 1.8.2.  The songs are in the right subcategory, the cue points are the same, the album art remained the same...  But the rotations doesn't work.  I also saw that the "count played" doesn't increase after a song is played.

Anything I missed?

I still broadcast with 1.8.2 for the time being, so I'm not in panic mode ;)

I might have put this in the wrong spot. But I updated my database as per instructions, for some reason its stuck at 1%. Did I miss something

When trying to update from 1.8.2 to 2.0: Database progression stays on Progress 1%.  Any ideas why?
