Has anyone been successful at using 2+ standalone encoders on the same machine?

I'm asking because I run 3 stations on one  machine.

Please bring back the Streamer Plugin für the new version!
I need it, because my laptop has no stereomix output.
And the streamer plugin was the only way to send content to my radio.

I've been experimenting with running multiple instances of B.U.T.T. Here's a snippet from the manual.txt file:

Configuration:
--------------
With butt 0.1.13 several new features regarding this topic have been
introduced.

The command line option -c <path_to_file> allows you to define anew
standard configuration path. This makes it possible to have multiple
instances with different configurations running. In case the file does
not exist, butt will create a default file.

  • Download and install Voicemeeter Banana
  • Install Virtual Audio Cables A/B to go along with.
  • Set output of RDJ as Virtual Cable A
  • Make Virtual Cable A an input in VM Banana
  • Set the output from Voicemeter Banana as the input in the B.U.T.T. encoder (free)
  • Set up your Shoutcast/Icecast info in B.U.T.T. and you're back streaming

This is roughly that setup pictured below. I moved RadioDJ to Virtual Cable A shortly after grabbing this screen shot. It works very well for me.

Hope this helps.

I have used Banana and VB.

Now using MB RECASTER 4.2.3.2 FREE

Works nice too.
Currently on

I should mention that -- if for some reason you need to create an Event that starts and stops your encoder -- you will have to use the Launch Application option. The only problem is that you can only launch BUTT this way, not stop it. There are free programs out there that let you take a .BAT file and compile it as an .EXE. I created a .BAT file that kills the butt.exe process and turned it into the application KILLBUTT.EXE. I run that in any RadioDJ events where I need to stop the encoder.

Hope this helps.

Same for me, at least for one purpose (sports events).  I rely on the Winamp DSP plugin.  Unless and until that gets updated, I'll be using the previous version.  It's a shame, too, because I could really use some of the new features.

Thank you, neutralhills! It works!

Awesome! You'll find that Voicemeeter is incredibly stable and won't take your system down on you. It's a nice compliment to RadioDJ.

No plugin voor stream, no chance to update i have to stay by 1.82.

A standalone version is not always the solution

In version 1.82 I used the streaming plug-in, but have made the jump to an external streaming application. My solution is similar to NeutralHills - good inspiration!

My system feeds the RadioDJ audio into Voicemeeter Banana. The output of Voicemeeter Banana is the input to the stand-alone version of StereoTool for audio processing. The output of StereoTool is sent to the BUTT encoder using VB Virtual Audio Cable.

It starts smoothly and consistently. I'll watch it for a few days and let folks know if I find any problems.

I've tried it all, nothing works properly..

Unfortunately something needs to be done ..!
