Connecting to Database from 2nd Computer

I am looking for some instructions to setup RDJ so that I can connect to the same database within my LAN. I am using the main computer as the play-out with the DB on that computer and trying to connect to that database with the other instance so I can make changes on my local machine. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to find the local IP that the RadioDJ database is on it'll be something like 192.168.0.10 then just connect to that machine from the other machine using  the details like this.

You will probably also need to allow access from Windows Firewall or antivirus firewall (if you have one) make sure port 3306 is allowed.

Just make sure the music paths are the same on the remote PC as well as the main PC.

Hope that helps.

Em still working on this tutorial, so it's not in the menu yet.
It's about how to setup a simple station.

To get the pc local/internal ip

Just find Different database setup on PC II in the page, it's a bit on the bottom of the page.

Hoop it will help you or others.

Also keep in mind that the default "root" user can only connect from localhost (same computer) to the database server, so you will need to change that.

Have you tried this too?
192.168.1.141:3306

Now it's only 192.168.1.141

Hi Plauri

Thank you for your response. I'm not sure I understand the mounting part. Can you explain?

plauri

On the second pc can you access the path where it's stored your music and your database? You open your File Explorer, then from C you have to mount for example: drive Z:\\music (I'm not sure this is the correct way to write it)

OK I see what you mean. I don't have a shared drive on the RDJ computer. My thought was that I was connected to it strictly by IP.

And yes, you have to share your drive!

Is there any documentation on the site to specifically accomplish this?
