Does this help any? https://djgarybaldy.co.uk/one-database-multiple-computers-running-radiodj/

What do you mean by Verification Check? If you mean user access control the default login is admin/admin you can then turn it off from the options menu.

G'day,

I did read that and saw:

So what happens if two or more RDJ's are active? Having to update multiple DB's is a pain and messy judging by the state of ours!

The main thing that can be noticed: if you have multiple RDJs active on the same database, you get 2 instances that mark songs as played. If you're running repeat rules (and you most likely will) those will be running through songs to select twice as fast, and you run the risk that certain songs and/or artists are only played on one of the instances and never (or less) on another.

if you want more stations.. just repeat.

well I think as long as you don't put the auto play and the like on you should be able to. I used to do this easy. The only thing I had to make sure that the one for Production was set off. Also make sure you don't save your settings to the DB option. I think you should be able to do it. It was previous versions that I used to do this with but I don't see why it wont work now.

in the video I shared, I run 4 versions. They are the same database but 4 differentr mariadb. whern I back up my main one, it has all of the master changes and song adds on it. I op up #2 and restore database  same for 3 and 4  each one points to its own database. so when #2 plays a song iy doesnt add to the play count for 1-3-4 when i first copied the database to the second stream.. i reset all play counts on #2 and it had zero impact on number 1.  all of the same songs and rotations are in each database.. as you restore the database from 1 to 2 3 and 4 you may have to utilize the relocate files under utilities.. My main files are all ojn drop box..

G'day,

Thanks for the video, but is not what I want.
That is two RDJ's with separate DB's on the same box.

We want 4 RDJ's using the same DB on 4 different computers.

! is sustaining service and the others are in studios.
When no studios are live we go to sustaining service freeing up the studios for other things.

Seems the only down side to this is that we may consume the audio tracks faster, not sure as yet how RDJ determines whether something have been played or not.

Seems I need to implement my 'Which studio is live' function, Then I can hack the UpdateTracks procedure a bit more.

I wouldn't hack too much in the database because you loose that functionality again when upgraded.

Most of the things you want can be acquired through the "Remote instance" checkbox in the configuration of RDJ - with "Remote Instance" that one won't mark tracks as played.
