What does the say time plugin do. Does it just say on air what the time is. What would you use this for
I often ask myself that very same question everytime I see someone having trouble with the Say time plugin... I can't think of a time where i would need an animated voice to announce the time where I am, When a listener could be 9 hours behind or in front of your station elsewhere in the world.
Its pretty pointless IMHO

I have to agree. Especially with the time difference that I never thought of until you mentioned it. Its 10pm oh no its nots 4pm. Would make listeners think all the live shows was pre recorded and the on air presenter wouldn't get the interaction they deserve. I for one see it pointless asking for requests on a recorded show which is what people might believe. Each to there own though

Maybe you are just not the target user for this feature? I am running RadioDJ in my small company to provide backgroud music for my workdays. I've listened to local radio stations before with noise from bad reception, with the typical annoying format radio rotations, with the same annoying commercials and jingles over and over. Same thing with Internet Radio. Don't like it that much. Ever since I found Radio DJ a few years ago, I've really enjoyed "my" radio station every day. I've set up the system with a set of great jingles that I really like. At the Top of the Hour I play FSN news. Say Time adds to the professional touch and is helpful because sometimes I just don't notice how time's running. The news beeps and the time tell me once an hour what time it is. I personally like this feature a lot and find it quite helpful.  :ok:

Do as follow:

1. prepare a jingle for example: "the exact time is offered by" and save it in the jingle category.
2. prepare a manual event for say time.
new event, event type - manual event, add action, plugin, say time: schedule hour announcement. save with name. This is the manual event.
3. Open playlist builder and prepare a playlist with 1. jingle, 2 manual saytime event (you can find it at the top events menu). Save the playlist (eg Say Time).
That's all.
Now go back to the events and make a new event that repeats every hour or whenever you want, loading the playlist (eg Say Time), top.

At the set time the playlist is loaded at the top of the playback and when the song ends it is played in sequence, "offered by" and the announcement of the exact time, without interrupting anything.

Many RDJ users are running on-air radio stations, too, and the time announce feature is great for providing time checks for local listeners. My station also runs local weather forecasts and I do time checks five times an hour, sometimes before forecasts and sometimes over song intros. Just because your internet station doesn't use these features doesn't mean that all stations should be run just like yours.
