2 PCs to access the same database help please
« on: October 30, 2018, 12:40:34 PM »
Hello.

We've run Radio DJ sucessfully for 6 years and await new and exciting features every time a release happens. We also await the paid for version as I feel its right to give back to such brilliant software.

We currently run 1.8.2.0 in a live environment and would like to have the studio PC running RDJ and one other external PC (in the office) be able to create a playlist on the studio PC for a presenter to be able to pull up the playlist when its time for the show.

Is this possible?

The other computer could just create an m3u playlist and then copy it to the appropriate subdirector on the broadcast computer

If you're creating an m3u playlist you only need access to the songs, not the database

If the songs are not in the database when the playlist is opened in RadioDJ, the first thing it will do is export the album art from the tags and import the songs into the database.
