Playlist Sync on Multiple instances
« on: February 10, 2019, 04:18:53 PM »
Hello

I'd like in a next release if it's possible to sync the Playlist plugin with every instance of RadioDJ.
For exemple, in playlist are the songs: A, B, C, ... on main instance. Then if u open another instance of RDJ, the playlist will sync on instance 2 as well with the songs - A, B, C.

I hope i made myself clear.

Does not work,

If you load and playlist then it will work and timings will be close.
It does not work if you use rotations due to the way the DB is accessed, we have 4 studios and we get 2 that are in sync.

Also, not all PC play tracks at the same speed! You get drift, it is close though.
And then by the time you have added other events that may play different length jingles, bullies etc, it all starts to drift.

The closest you may get is loading a pre-defined playlist.

I need this because i want to modify the on air playlist on main instance from RadioDJ (add songs, remove etc.), but i don't actually need to play at the same time on two PCs

I missed `I'd like in a next release` part of your post. I was thinking about how it works now.

I found a workaround: i'm with REST Control panel + Request script (we dont allow them on our site anyway). This is not perfect but it's fine. I can easily add a shoutcast stream or interviews on air, because i allowed all types of  tracks to be shown.
