Mysql>MariaDB??
« on: May 09, 2019, 04:03:37 PM »

I'm installing MariaDb on a machine that has MySql, I ask:
1) how to install the database created by the backup on MariaDb without resorting to a script

2) if there is a video tutorial for istallara MariaDb on a machine where MySql is located

3) if someone has packaged the automatic function with an executable file.

Thank you

Mariah would need to use a different port than your existing MySQL installation.

Any backup should be basic SQL commands so many iWeb should be able to import it

You should find videos on YouTube about this

If you want to run both on the same time, than is a bit more complicated, as stewa wrote, you will need a different port for each server.
For moving from one to another, simply make a database backup, stop MySQL service, install MariaDB, create a new database for RadioDJ and restore the backup you did. If everything is fine, you can uninstall MySQL now, or you can simply disable its service so you can use it later if needed.

I keep both MariaDB and MySQL and i simply disable the service i don't use, in this way i can switch between them anytime. MariaDB service is running under the name "MySQL" and MySQL 8 under "MySQL8": http://prntscr.com/nmqgif

Thanks Marius and Stevewa,

It seems to me that the process that describes Marius is simpler, in the coming days I will do a test.

@Marius:
it would be a good idea to make a video tutorial, what do you say?

I have installed MariaDB 10.3 but I cannot get RadioDJ 2.0.1.5 to connect because it wants to connect SSL and I cannot seem to figure out what is wrong here. I have a ca-key.pem file in my \windows 10\program files\MariaDB 10.3 folder ... and I even copied it into an SSL folder I created. Thoughts? Help?
