Setup Music Library from scratch

Setup Music Library from scratch
« on: December 05, 2019, 03:14:46 AM »
Hi,
I am starting with a new music library and after reading all the posts about how to organise the music library, I'm still not sure the best way to do it.
The radio station is a general easy listening station for all age ranges, so we play a variety of music.
I have software to tag the music (90% automatically) including, Title, Artist, Album, Year, Genre so I really am starting from scratch.
So what would be the best way to organise the sub-categories?
During the day the station is general playlist from current charts to oldies.
In the evening the station has specialist music shows, eg: Soul & Motown, Love Zone, Back to the 80's, Reggae & Dance.
I want to use rotations based on the show.

Any advice?

Thanks
Chris

My advice would be to keep the path as short as possible, same with the filename.  Filename, I would go artist-album or year or version-title.  I'd add the album/version/year field just in case you have two different versions of the same song (say live, or club mix, etc.)
