Any idea why no matter what codec (I'll be tried several) I use my stream is playing anything pickup by my microphone not what's playing in radio DJ...

I've tried Alta-cast, broadwave and butt.
Can you suggest a few different external encoder preferably a free one.
Also explain the difference please.

This is most likely a settings problem either in your encoder or mixer. Best thing to do if you only want to use the output of RDJ to put into an encoder: install a virtual audio cable, put that as output for RDJ and input for the encoder.

Otherwise look into the input settings of the encoder and how your mixer in Windows is configured (remove the Microphone output in your outgoing signal that the encoder picks up).

If you don't know how these things work, follow a startup tutorial for using encoders with RDJ that are mentioned everywhere around this forum.

In fact this one is pretty easy. Now it is good to know how the RadioDJ is playing. Is it only "internal" than you right click the loudspeaker and choose audio settings. Scroll down and select "sound configuration". Hit the tab "Recording" and select "WAVE OUT" if you can see it. If not there are ways to make it visable but i don't know how at this moment. I think it right click and than hit "Show disabled devices" and "Show not connected devices".

If you use the line out for RadioDJ and line in for the streaming encoder, right click speaker in the bottom right corner and select audio settings. Than the right input you need and most likely it is set to "internal microphone". In the audio streaming encoder you should select the same input device so line input.

Running 3 editions V1.8.2 at www.salto.nl and v1.8.2 at radio251.nl. ( NOW with 2 live studio's! )

Seems the others haven't answered your question regarding free encoders. I use SE Caster. It's solid and it's free.
