I think at least one week, but I don't remember exactly. [edit] No, it was 5 days since I restarted radiodj due to a problem coming from RadioCaster.

it looks like the error I once reported https://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?topic=11122 in my case every 4 days or so I had to restart RadioDJ due to memory errors. Checking the behavior I noticed that the use of kb allocated to the process increased. Two weeks ago I upgraded windows (I was initially going to restore win7, but I migrated to w10 taking advantage of the momentum) now I'm 8 days old and RadioDJ is still stable.

My suspicion at the end lay in some update of windows that generates that the process consumes unnecessary memory or that the garbage collector did not do its job well. I would love to tell you which update it was in particular. If you want to try, you could uninstall the most recent updates from your system. Or simply reinstall the operating system from scratch (backing up your music and making a copy of the database) I think that is the best thing to do.

It happened again and the error log was exactly the same as before. This time happened after 3 days. I'm seriously thinking of formatting my pc as OnePlayRadio suggested, unless any other solution comes.

Another option you could try, is to uninstall the latest windows updates, my suspicion is that one of them is generating some problem in the .net garbage collector. I took advantage of upgrading from win7 to win10, that's why the formatting, but before radiodj was working without problems until it started to give errors every 3 or 4 days. Even the encoder also stopped working after several days. Now I've been running for 15 days without problems and the resource usage is still fine.

1023WOW!Radio

For starters, I just upgraded our entire system to the new RDJ 2.0.2.0 and I would like to report everything is running beautifully (so far). The database from 2.0.0.6. moved over with little effort, all the track data (almost 10k tracks) stayed intact (including all cue data), all events were fine, the request system works fine and multi-pc networking works fine.

The only thing that did not transpose over in the db export/import was the rotation data. The "rotations" themselves did move to the new db, but the individual line items in each rotation lost their "links" and therefore, when trying to fire, wouldn't load any tracks. It was a simple fix...I just had to click on each individual line item, re-save it, then re-save the entire rotation back over itself. After doing this for each rotation, I closed down all instances of RDJ and re-opened...back to normal now! I was glad to not have to re-write each rotation but since I have them all hard copied I could have if I had to.

One of the only issue I have now is that somehow during the db export/import I ended up with (4) of each genre in the categories screen.  I tried just deleting one of the "extras" and all of them dissapeared. Is there a way, perhaps in the database, to eliminate the duplicates?

The other things I've noticed in the tracks manager is:

1) When adding a track, it doesn't automatically update the list...you have to re-load one of the top row tabs. Before it just automatically showed up in the list (if I had it set to the particular category it was going into).

2) In the file manager, each line items had a column for the tracks hard drive location.....it was really handy to be able to hover over that field and see where it was located.

So far that's MY experience with the new 2.0.2.0., I like it! Any input on the few issues I listed would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the exact same issue as you:

Like you, I also use Radiocaster. Could that be the culprit?

I don't think it's a Radiocaster issue. I changed db quota in Mariadb to 1GB as Garybaldy suggested. After some days radiodj is still running, but I will keep you informed.

After rolling back the updates as previously suggested, and changing my MariaDB settings, everything seems to be running smoothly for over a week now. These are the changes I made in my my.cnf:

[mysqld]
sql_mode="STRICT_TRANS_TABLES,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION"
default_storage_engine=innodb
innodb_buffer_pool_size=443M
innodb_log_file_size=50M
innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:10M:autoextend:max:1G
character-set-server=utf8
max_allowed_packet=1024M

Just in case this helps someone else.

...Until the day after I post this, lol. Exact same crash, exact same time of day. Back to the drawing board, I suppose...

Vanlen

Just a small non show stopper bug to report in RadioDJ in 2020.

When importing Album Art for a particular Audio file sometimes (Not All The Time) when double clicking on a picture to load I get this "please Select Category and Genre" Warning.

Solution:  I Just click escape and all is good. :cool:

Otherwise using RadioDJ 2020 Beta 24/7 for over a year now and Solid like a Rock as the song goes.

Cheers

I closed and restarted Radiodj. But after changing "innodb_log_file_size" it never happened again, it's almost one month now.  :)
