Metadata to Samcast

I need info on how to sent title-artist information from RadioDJ to Samcast.  Samcast is running on a different PC and works with "TuneTracker" basic automation.

Sam Cast doesn't natively support title streaming. You'd be better of with a paid for encoder like RadioCaster from DJSoft that supports title streaming and DSP plugins if you need them. Or there are some free encoders Here

Or have you already paid for SC? If thats the case I have a piece of song title updating software on my blog.

Hi!  I'm not sure we're on the "same page".  I bought the SamCast encoding software some time back, and it will easily accept and send Title/Artist.  I'll look at the software you sent along, and, THANKS!

Let me add to my question.  My SamCast encoder sends the streaming audio and data to Live365, so, I don't need Title/Artist to show on my web site.  I just need to get the Title/Artist data from RadioDJ into the SamCast encoder.   :)

I tried it way back when it was Simplecast and I could never get it to send artist and title informmation.

I know you need a Poller.exe software to get the metadata to the listener, when I last tried a demo of SAM Cast I was struggling to gte the metadata out that way too.

I would think RadioDJ would send it over to SamCast quite handily, but, have yet to succeed.  It appears to be somewhat straightforward, so, I must be missing a step.  I'm presently using an old, "Basic" version of TuneTracker, and am sending accurate Title/Artist info across my network into SamCast.  I may have messed up RadioDJ and need to re-install.

OK, tracking back a bit, RadioDJ is not writing anything to the "Now Playing" text file.

Are you running RadioDJ as administrator? Windows won't allow RadioDJ to write to the C:\drive unless RDJ is ran as Admin.

Failing that delete the current Now Playing file and allow RadioDJ to repopulate it.

Following.

I am running into the same problem, trying to send out the metadata for RDS. Have everything configured and tried multiple things, but seems like RadioDJ isn't or cannot push that out to a location, like what is setup under "Network" or "Web". I must be missing something as well.

Yes, admin with no password and User Management disabled.

I un-installed and re-installed RadioDJ (not the database, though), and did the set up for title-artist.  It still is not writing data to the "NowPlaying" text file.

Jim Graham

I am now running RadioDJ in compatibility mode for XP and still no title artist. Here are some screen shots of settings.

OK, it's now writing to the Now Playing text file, but not sending to the SamCast machine.  Also, that file shows "artist - artist".

Look under stream titles from the options menu you have all sorts of variables that it can output

Does this mean anything?
