Event starting but not loading all songs.

Lately I've had problems with one of my events not loading at all. It's a 2 hour program. This morning it loaded the program, but only two songs of the event, then went to my normal track rotation. And yes, all of the tracks are enabled. Anybody got any ideas?

Do you get any errors? Please check the windows event viewer for possible clues regarding RadioDJ.

I see no errors. Should I shut down RadioDJ and restart it?

It did it again this morning. Loaded the event, played the first three songs, then went into the normal track rotation. Then the tracks I wanted to play in the event said they could not be found. Where do they go? They are all "enabled" Finally, I got to load them manually. No other event I have does this, they all work fine.

So the eventlog says that the tracks couldn't be found. That's a start. How do you load your playlist into the event - is it a playlist in database or a M3U file that you've saved? The playlist is created on the same machine?

The tracks manager said they could find the tracks. I load the event with a playlist from my database. All on the same machine. I build the playlist within RadioDJ.

The tracks manager says it can find the tracks until RDJ tries to play a track and can't find it, so it isn't a correct assumption to think that "if it's int trackmanager, the tracks accessable". If you try your normal procedure, but instead of starting the playlist with the event you try to open a number of random tracks from the list (i.e. only looking at the properties or the cue points) - does that work?

And with your statement "Then the tracks I wanted to play in the event said they could not be found" - do you mean that your Windows Eventlog has entries in it saying the tracks couldn't be found or that the tracks used in your event have been disabled? (Both are pointing towards "tracks cannot be found on disk"). Is the disk your tracks are on a local disk, a USB drive or a network drive?

It happened again this morning, Tuesday. Loaded the event, played about 4 songs then went into my normal rotation. So just now I was able to manually place the songs into the playlist by dragging and dropping them from the main RadioDJ page. All my music is on the same computer. I use the playlist builder right on radiodj. Did not get any messages today that said tracks could not be found or are missing. Tracks are not disabled. They show up in my tracks manager and some times they have said they could not be found, today they seem alright, all found.

Well just one thing to keep in mind. Switch your computer in "performance" mode. You can find that one in the powermanagment. Second, don't use USB drives or make sure that the USB drives not powered down to save power. If the USB drive is going to "sleep", all your tracks are loaded in the cache of your computer but the drive is not needed at that moment. If RadioDJ is going to play, it can load what is in cache  but all other tracks can be "not found" and so skipped. Because the drive is activated at that moment, it can see tracks and selects the format.

So make sure:
PC in "performance" power schedule
USB drives in contant power and computer can not switch the USB drives of "to safe power".

That should solve a lot of things.

did you already a "verify tracks" under utilities?

I do store all my music on my main hard drive. Not on a USB. Even, if I did, my other events play and load songs just fine. I did reset the performance.

Then the other question is, the HDD, is it a "green" disk? The problems with those they shut down with a build in timer. That works independently of the windows setting.

Just in defend of TS; if RDJ can't see the tracks when adding them to the queue (from the playlist), it normally disables them. So, without further action, it'd be impossible to add those files to the queue again.
