Watching the news and its depressing. Corona virus is certainly causing headaches globally right now.

I sincerely hope you all manage to keep yourself safe during this outbreak... self isolation seems to be the thing

Its worrying for me because I have several underlying health conditions that may make it worse for me if i catch it.

We can only see what the future brings....

Even if it's a serious subject, i think that the media is causing a lot of unnecessary hysteria, causing effects like stores running out of toilet paper... Really people? That's your biggest concern right now?

I think we have better chances if we treat this with calm, follow the doctors directions and hope for the best.

Just been to my local supermarket there's not a packet of pasta to be seen. The tinned aisle looks like WW£ happened and they're out of eggs and sugar.

I only went up to do my normal shop and some of the things I wanted just weren't there.

I'm running a generic pandemic public service announcement reminding listeners how to protect yourself and others from the current virus. It can be reused for whatever health crisis will come in the future, too. I have my computer voice making the announcement. I've attached the text so anyone who wants it can add a voice.

I bought lots of toilet roll last week and that was me doing my monthly stock up I've not panic bought.

There may be a well thought thing about this. Because if someone coughs, everybody is so nervous they're shitting their pants... so you may need some more paper as normal 

But the real thing is: some decades ago there was a health "crisis" in which toilet paper was not available (most likely for some other reason). That sticks in people's minds, and whenever there is a potential "crisis", there are always people stocking up some extra rolls - leading to empty shelves, which in turn lead to people who are thinking there could be a problem and stocking up themselves.

So people are really making themselves look like fools, and they're proud of it because they "thought of it"...

Thing is I've not stockpiled. (Yes I have a medical issue but we won't go into that) I order 48 Loo rolls every so often online and get them delivered its just so happened I was out and needed 2 packs of 24.works out better value in the long run.


I've witnessed panic buying this morning in my local supermarket. shelves were like a tornado had been round the aisles.

yes you may need to self isolate for 2 weeks but that doesn't mean you have to buy every packet/tin of soup/pasta that you can lay your hands on...

I have 12 weeks in which to learn something. My GP has placed me in quarantine because of my health issues.

i think I may just tinker with the Raspberry PI 4 its been sat doing nothing since it went wrong and TechMonkey didn't have time to repair it.

I can go out but only for a short period for essentials.

We're heading into four weeks of lockdown, in just under three hours from now. The whole country. It's a good thing, certainly if it's only four weeks. Much of New Zealand will be home bound, though we can still go out for exercise in our local area, to the supermarket, pharmacy and dairy, everything is closed to the public. Police will be inforce making sure no one is where they aren't meant to be. Pretty serious when all non-essential businesses are closed for four weeks (maybe longer).

Ironically, my usual business - the one that pays the bills is considered non-essential, whereas this station - which is a for the "love of" thing is considered essential. It fits under the media banner.

Fortunately, our government is going into massive hock to ensure we are covered financially during the lockdown. 

Hoping for a spike in listeners over the coming four weeks, many will be finding themselves online more often I'm picking.

Guess what's bitten me.... Well that's the opinion of the practitioner at the doctors I'm now in isolation for 7 days 

I was already under lockdown I've had very little contact with others all I know is I've been in bed most of the weekend and i feel like a bag of spanners


If I'm not about answering queries its because I'm taking time out. I need rest and lots of fluids etc...

I absolutely Hate being ill I have enough health problems as it is.

I don't know how everyone else is getting on but this Coronavirus is going nowhere it seems.

We're just about to go into another Month long lockdown in the UK. I'm better prepared this time than I was last time.

these Lockdowns are doing NO favours for my mental health if it wasn't for the music I don't know what I'd do

Stay Safe ! There is light at the end of the tunnel.  I work in Melbourne , Victoria and live regionally . The last 100 days of our stage 4  lock down were terrible to say at the very least.

We are starting to come out of restrictions but it will take a while to get back to "normal"

Today , our number of cases here are very low .  I cross my fingers my friends in the Northern Hemisphere have the same results quickly !
