I've well and truly f****d things trying to get the database to update. 

I'm beginning to suspect that my BACKUP plugin for WordPress wasn't taking full backups of the database or if it did it left it riddled with shedloads of errors.

Now filazilla is flat out refusing to upload anything to the server this just gets worse and worse

Anyway DJGarybaldy has had its chips I've had enough I'm getting stressed and my temper has come to the fore.

I guess if people want my website they'll have to use Wayback machine. I'm cancelling the VPS IF this next try still doesn't get things working.

Sorry But I tried. Right now you don't know just how much I'm missing TechMonkey

Of course, in these moments, missing someone is the worst 

But head on, otherwise just start again with the site with a new skin and with some paper where you write what and where you put something so you can find it again.

as a last ditch effort, before you shutdown the vps, do you want to give me your putty configuration exported for the registry (https://devanswers.co/backup-copy-putty-sessions-another-pc/)  and your ssh private key and vps root user password, so i could connect to your vps & try to fix things to a level where you could run the latest full backup fro wordpress before you start over from nothing?

I've turned pvt messages off... Its too late I've sent the cancellation request.

Like I tried explaining earlier the backup tool I thought had been taking backups wasn't and when you have no backups...

I'm taking time out, Purely for mental health reasons (my anxiety keeps rearing its ugly head).

I'll decide what I'm doing from here  eventually... I just need a few days off from my Brain being deep fried.

I'm locking the topic there's not much else to discuss. I'm sure certain people will be happy my website is offline, lets face it I got lots of abuse for the posts about S*M Broadcaster and its lack of reliability.

Having to completely rewrite some blog posts that I've managed to extract from one of the backups.

My new blog is growing... I should have a lot more posts on there in the next week or two. Now I have the hang of things on Blogger

Its the best anyone is going to get as I'm damn sure I'm not paying for a blog site. The prices I've seen were crazy.

Suppose you could say Normal service will be resumed ASAP.
