1.8.2.0 Stutter - audio file attached as example?
« on: May 14, 2020, 10:40:38 AM »
E6700 Dual Core @3.2GHz Packard Bell 3gb RAM Windows 7 Pro

Successfully running RDJ 1.8.2.0 since 2013 (plus earlier versions of RDJ) and once a year we have the attached audio file problem. All that needs doing is to shut RDJ and re-open it.

The file, in this case James Blunt, https://mobdro.bio/ https://kodi.bio/ is playing and continuing at a very slow rate. Constantly repeating the same millisecond of song and then moving on. It takes, by my calculations, 3 hours to play 3 minutes.

The machine does this just once a year. I wouldn't say RAM is a problem as its only begun to occur since 2017.

Original hard drive which isn't clicking or showing any signs of a failing drive.

Only than running RDJ plus Audacity for pre recording show, this PC does nothing.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

You should check a couple of things. You already noted that the drive isn't failing but when you hear strange things and stutters, this cou;d be the case. Now another thing is the Database. It is known that MySQL is having some issues with RadioDJ running in W7. The thing to do is change to MariaDB, that is more stable and uses less resources than MySQL. Also check if the computer is running in performance  mode. That means if it's running in performance, it won't switch down drives and other thing to preserve power. Manually set the drive shut down to 0 witch can be done in the advanced setting.

Now about the computer, it should work with the specs you said. I am running RadioDJ in a test/home setup ( not for streaming that is) on a P4 ht with 2gb of memory. Now the thing that can be that there could be a conflict between Audacity and RadioDJ using the same audio input. So for recording i would sugest to take another computer for that.

Hope this helps a little.
