I am assuming that since this board is for General Talking its safe to mention VMB "Voicemeeter Banana".

Some still use VMB with RDJ instead of a physical mixer, I'm one of them.  I have been using RDJ + VMB as a live streaming DJ/Host playing music and hosting 2 hour sets 5 days a week, for nearly 4 years.  I have very limited technical audio knowledge except for appreciation of a wide range of music, and enjoy sharing that with listeners, so please don't ask me if xyz equipment or software will work, I am presenting only what I use.  Most DJ/Hosts that are doing what I am in the environment/digital space I'm in, are using SAM, I am guessing 70% are pirated copies. SAM cost $300 this is a hobby, I can't justify that expense.  RDJ + VMB cost next to nothing VMB is donationware.

One issue with VMB that has been constant during the 4 years are windows update problems.  Windows 10 has bad habit of overwriting drivers, crossed virtual cables so instead of virtual cable A playing A it was actually doing B.  The general fix has always been to uninstall  VMB and the virtual cables, then reinstall.  It has worked every time, until the most recent Win 10 update ver 2004 which hit me last Wednesday, and caused the broadcast stream of music to Shoutcast to have a continuous stutter and static.  Many VMB users are complaining about this problem, only the broadcasting output/channel has the problem, and the standard fix of uninstall-reinstall typically does not work to solve the problem.

In my case, I previously used hardware output A2 with virtual cable B to feed music/mic audio to the encoder.  The workaround and actually should have been what I suppose to use is either virtual output A or B.  Switching to Virtual output B2 fixed my problem.  This means apparently there is some remaining conflict between Windows the virtual cable A&B drivers and sending to encoder that is broadcasting.  The virtual cable drivers A&B work fine for other connections to hardware devices.

Yes its fine to mention Voicemeeter...

Don't get me started on Windows Updates messing up Audio settings, for a short period this year I had no audio from Spotify or my browser. I dread having to install big updates (patch Tuesday) from Microsnot because of it.  :bash:
