One thing I noticed is that I found my file empty again, when I clearly had it populated before.

So far so good, though I do not know if it is happening with artists. will have to dig deeper.
One question - does this mean that in order to actually separate the artists, I need to place the featuring artists in the 'Artist' field and make sure the txt file is populated? if so, what is the purpose of the 'associated_artists' field?

I am asking this because I still have problems where the Artist field was not yet updated. So for example: I do not wish for Robbie Williams and Take That to be played back to back. Unless I change the artist to Robbie Williams ft. Take That and Take That ft. Robbie Williams, it won't work? - this does not make much sense. I'd have to change half of my Artist tags... furthermore, what would happen when I have Robbie Williams - Somethin' Stupid Ft/ Nicole Kidman.... I would have to change the artist name to Robbie Williams ft. Take That ft. Nicole Kidman for all songs??!! Look at the attached.... in my opinion, if the associated_artists field does not work, there's no way to solve this

Its not just you...


Its to do with the way MySQL sees entries, I have had this issue with other well known playout software in the past

Have you tried putting Robbie Williams in as an associated artist in the assoc artist fields on the Take That tracks?

yes if you see the screenshot attached, I've got 'robbie williams' in the associated_artists field for all Take That tracks and vice versa

at this point I do not know what to do, possibly no one else has this issue or maybe has not noticed?

The only thing i can think of is that in auto dj settings the artist separation is not selected.
Else i don't know wat or how this happens.
Or You may need to update associated artists in utilities.

Uncheck reset subcategories... It will make RadioDJ see the tracks as unplayed if you reset the category



I never have that ticked but then again I have over 1000 files in each category so I never really run out of tracks.
