2.0.3.0 - fresh install, music loads but rotations not recognised...

Hi all,

After uninstalling both 2.0.0.6 and Maria dB, renaming the original RadioDJ folder and removing the original Maria dB folder, I installed the latest version of Maria dB and 2.0.3.0.

I then installed a fresh database for RDJ as requested upon installation. RDJ fired up no problem at all but without any music.

I then restored the database that I had previously used for 2.0.0.6, fired up RDJ again. This time the music tracks on the right side of the screen populated, but there were no rotations loaded on the left window as I would have expected. Hitting the "clear" button doesn't help - it doesn't even display the usual "are you sure" message.

I tried to create a new test rotation of two tracks, and although it recognised the rotation, nothing would load in the left window.

I tried to verify tracks, reset the count, associate moved tracks and changed sound card settings, restarted RDJ, all no no avail.

Even trying to repair the new database had no effect.

What am I missing?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Bryan.

Try opening up a track rotation and save it. open it and click the save button. you may have to open up each one and save them also.

Thanks for the quick reply Randy.

I tried re-saving each rotation, that didn't help.

I'm not sure what you mean by "open up each one and save them also". Could you expand on that a little more please? Open up which "one"?

Cheers,
Bryan

I am having similar issues.  So far I can only get 2.0.1.6 to work and this is what I did to get rotations going.  I plan to restore this database in another machine running 2.0.3.1.

"All rotations had to be manually reset by clicking "Edit" and OK in the popup menu for every element in the rotation then Save up top and Save on the bottom.  Someone previously pointed this out in the Beta Releases threads.  After that the rotations seem to be fine.

When I tried to back up the newly functioning database, the Database Setup Utility would not do it until I changed the destination folder.  Only then did a backup get created so you may want to double check that your backups are actually being saved in the default folder (C\RadioDJ\Setup\Backup)."

I will post my findings on the thread I made above yours:  Database Restore after Upgrade.

Thanks Richard, I'll hopefully have a chance to give that a crack today. I'll keep an eye on your post too.

EDIT: I tried what you suggested Richard, with one rotation and tried to play that out. Even with a restart of RDJ, no change using 2030. Thanks anyway. Much appreciated.

...and now the main PC wont move past bios loading on reboot. Just what I need. Oh, happy days indeed!

So, in the end I opted to reset our Win10 PC and start again.

The reset was done leaving all our files intact, but removed all applications when Windows reinstalled.

Sadly, even this didn't help I tried 2031. Same problem as above. 2006? No problem, seems to be working really well, if not better than before.

So I'm at a complete loss as to why 2006 works and 2020-2031 doesn't.

Any other pointers would be appreciated.

What happens if you make a new rotation ?
I recall having a similar issue when upgrading from 2.0.0.6 to a newer version.
Made the rotations again, altogether, now works flawlessly

@Ignitenz

Did you do a database update from 2006 to 2016 FIRST before a restore in Beta 2031?
It won't work otherwise.
Oh, I just saw you were using 2030.  Same Situation though even for 2020beta.

So many beta's so little time ;)   2031 though is amazing so far.

I am having the Rotation issue in a new install of 2031beta.
Rotations won't load - but Events will.
I made new Rotations and tried them - no luck.
Thanks for any ideas.
