Windows 11

I'm hearing on social media that today Microsoft are supposed to be unveiling Windows 11.

I could have sworn Microsoft said Windows 10 would be the last operating system (Or was I imagining it?)

I guess I'll watch this space... If I'm going to be testing it its going to be on a Virtual Machine

I watched the event here in Germany on windowsarea.de as a commented presentation.
Windows 11 looks awesome and if you read between the lines and everything is real what Microsoft presented, the OS will be a lot easier to handle and to operate.

But Gary, if you want to test it, wait for the first beta version of Windows 11. The Windows 11 ISO you can download at the moment from some websites is only a preview and still Windows 10 under the surface (with all it's pros and contras). Most of the functions Microsoft presented are still in development and not integrated.
The first beta of Windows 11 is expected in the next weeks. The final version is expected short before christmas.

The first beta will come on the 28. of June. So if 4 days...

I have an old laptop with only a 2mhz processor. Last time I updated windows 10 it told me it wouldn't be able to cope with windows 11.

My suspicions that this is just a con to get more money out of people were confirmed when it then listed three retailers where I could buy a windows 11 ready machine!

Fortunately the laptop is only one of three (the others are PCs) so I shouldn't be affected
