AAC+ Playback In Firefox?
« on: September 20, 2021, 04:43:18 PM »
I've been testing an AAC+ stream today and I was listening to it in Winamp but then I wondered if it would play in my Browser and BINGO it did.

Quite a step forward if Firefox can now handle the playback of AAC+ I have no particular add on installed

I'm streaming using Icecast with a /stream prefix at the end of the URL

I know it doesn't work in Chrome but I know it works in FF.... Is this a Fluke?  :bash:

That's intersting. My Icecast stream ends with /listen. But no go with Chrome or Firefox (on Android). I'll have to try changing mountpoint in stream to /stream and see what happens.

I've tested a couple of streams in my browser just using the play button on the Icecast YP and other AAC+ streams seem to be playing with no magic from me.
