trustworthy version 10.5 (max version, don't use newer.)

Most fastest version en work best with radiodj.
Migrate if possible.

Back when I was a novice (still am!) I originally installed the MySQL server - and after a few days of not getting things to work (and pulling most of my hair out) I read about users switching to MariaDB. It has been my backbone ever since.
