I don't get what it is you are wanting...  :bash:

I wouldn't recommend SAM Cast as you'll have headaches trying to send Now Playing Information over your stream as it doesn't generally support reading from text files.

Windows 11 is a new OS and there is still a possibility that software won't perform well on it at present

For me, my radio server has been running flawlessly since December 10th. I made a W11 pro-workstation version for this purpose. The 11 are much better security issues. I use samcaster for streaming because the audo processor is the best. The Radio Dj software is very good, I really liked it, I transformed a lot in it. Very good. Semcaster is great for sending song titles. Easy to set up. I said closed if I had to help.
If it is not useful then delete it!
I checked out the beta. Are the most important things blocked in it? Why? This way you can't try it properly.

hello,
I am also using SamCast and i didnt find a way to send the metadata from RadioDj to server through SamCast.
It was needed to use a third party software provided by Gary on his blog.
@HITS Radio : Did you use a script in order to feed metadata? If so, can you share it with me?
thank you!

HITS Radio

Hello!
It's very simple! Since Radio Dj is a very advanced software that includes a mini web server. This is perfect for you.
Now play the Now Playing Info Exporter.
Find the Web Export option here. The url is http: // localhost: 8181
method: POST, enable. No password or custom data is required. Add it and make it active.
In the semcaster it is very simple, Settings, Event Adapters, choose the HTTP protocol. Be very careful if your system's firewall indicates port 8181, enable it. It's that simple.

Thanks, HITS Radio!
i think i tried this in the past and it didnt work for me. I will try it again.
Is it there any specific setting that has to be done in windows in order to enable this port?
By this solution do you have a real time update of the tracks played in Radio Dj on your server?

HITS Radio

Yes! Yes immediately fresh! Even check your Radio Dj exe to run as an administrator. Yes the port must be passed through the firewall.

If not, what generates it? Then send it there.

I've done exactly as you suggested and I still cant get Title streaming working in SAM Cast I installed it on a fresh install of Windows 10 as my computer isn't powerful enough for W11

The File Poller that is also supposed to read from a .TXT file also isn't sending metadata on 8181

I've NEVER got now playing metadata through SamCast (SimpleCast as was) and it must be 18 years since I first tried getting metadata to populate

You must have some voodoo powers that I don't

stevewa

RadioDJ's Metadata Export plugin, tab = Web, only sends data to some other application. Technically that is not a web server. A web server listens for requests for files (urls) and returns content via http / https.

In your situation, your SamCast software application is listening on a specific port number, and RadioDJ sends your song's metadata to that application, which then pushes it out to your streaming server (icecast / shoutcast).

You can send the metadata directly to the icecast / shoutcast server without relying on SAM. I have no idea what you think sam is doing audio processing better than other encoders, but in my opinion it's an overpriced P.O.S.

Congratulations on running since dec 10th, but are you aware there are people on here who have been running flawlessly for 365 days etc? LOL.

stevewa

Gary if you really want to troubleshoot this, you could install SmartSniff form NirSoft https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/smsniff.html along with Pcap, so see if SAm is sending something to that port.

but try this first.
your shoutcast is running on port 8050. try setting the sam file poller to use that port number 8050. the shoutcast server should recv the metadata update.

you can also manually update it to shoutcast using the url  /admin.cgi?sid=#&mode=updinfo&song=title
to make sure shoutcast can recv the metadata.

Changing the port has done absolutely NOTHING it says its sending data but that data just isn't ending up on my shoutcast stream (And its Also started buffering while listening to it)

So I've tried EVERYTHING (Yet again) and NOTHING worked.

I haven't tested SAM cast for a few years and SADLY not much has changed that I can see.

I've followed tutorials before with the same effect.

Like I said I remember Simplecast and that came without a FILE POLLER extension and even then it didn't read the metadata

SAM cast is like every other bit of SA software NOT fit for PURPOSE

Andrew

I did a ticket last year regarding this metadata issue and this is what they answered. The problem is that i haven't found anyone that knows how to write a script ::)

If I can send a normal size, I'll put it on.
The radio has been playing for 16 years. I used a sambroadcaster before.
