RIP 16GB Machine

My 16GB AMD10 Pc is starting to show its age, The graphics card keeps crashing (built into the motherboard)

The computer also sometimes comes to a grinding halt without warning and there's a buzzing sound when that happens when it does

I've trouble shot as much as I can and I've realised after 8 years this computer has HAD ITS CHIPS.

It cost me the princely sum of £367 when it was new as a Bare-bones machine 8 years ago. I'm having to swap for an 8GB machine.

It seems the average life span of a ZooStorm PC is 8 years  last one lasted just shy of 8 years.

I really could swing for Realtek Audio Drivers

The computer I've swapped to use  isn't liking audacity I go to open audacity and the stream/sound starts buffering and cutting out...

Well to say there has been a BIT of swearing here today would be an understatement,

I don't know why the audio keeps screwing up on the 8GB machine.

So I've had to fire up the 32GB Machine I bought in 2020.

So far so good even if I've had to beat the sound settings with a stick.

DOH! of the day:  I spent 30 minutes wondering why networking wasn't coonnecting to the router.

Turns out I'd NOT plugged the cable in far enough... Who feels like a prize PLUM? Yes ME!

Ha-ha, it's happened to us all. ;)  Glad it was an easy fix!

I've decided that the 16GB computer will now serve as a file server rather than a streaming machine its not up to that job anymore what with the motherboard randomly causing graphics failures.

Any problems I had with audio were as I've documented elsewhere were caused by dodgy audio pipeline software.

Its been a good computer for the 8 years I've had it, it used to run Linux its only since 2020 its been used for Windows couldn't go back to Linux it was way to difficult for me to master.

Hi!
I also had some such machines under my hand. I had to simply wipe the factory driver and leave the basic windozo. I then forbade windows to update my sound card. Then it works flawlessly with the basic driver. I think the 16 on the motherboard ram you think of. Motherboard vga errors can also be caused by ram errors. There must be at least 2 ram strips. Then take out one and run a ram test.
