Unknown Database radiodj161
« on: February 11, 2022, 04:29:58 AM »
Using version 1.8.2 with the latest MySQL 8.0.28

When running:

mysqlcheck -r --user=root --password=>password< radiodj161

It responds with "unknown Database radiodj161".

I've gotten that message elsewhere, as if that database doesn't exist, e.g., TablePlus.

And, I get this from DatabaseSetup.exe:

"ERROR: Authentication method 'caching_sha2_password' not supported by any of the available plugins."

I went to install both caching_sha2_password and mysql_native_password and it replied they both existed.

I'm stumped as to why Database Setup is retching on me.  I KNOW I use the legacy option in the MySQL config and it was working before I did a recent wipe and reinstall of Windows 11.   :bash: :'(

Re: Unknown Database radiodj161 [SOLVED]

For all the fuss about "unknown database", I resolved the issue by replacing MySQL v8.0.28 with v5.7.

Database Setup liked it and approved its passage.  Backup restored and now RadioDJ runs like it did and should.

And there was much rejoicing!   :hihi: :cool:
