I got out. Thanks for the concern everyone.

I pulled all my HDDs, packed the pets, and managed to make it to Warsaw with 2 changes to clothes. Unfortunately it's like +8 +10 here and the two changes of clothes were winter clothes.  ::)

I bought a computer, but I'm having problems with it so I have no idea how long it's going to take to get the station back up. (Did I tell you I hate computers)

PHEW! Good to hear that you managed to get out!

This Conflict already feels as if its gone on for a long time... Its just over a month since Putin invaded.

The footage from Mariupol is utterly devastating, RFU you made the right choice getting out from where you were.

God knows how long this is going to drag on and how much if anything of Ukraine will be left.

My Heart breaks for Ukraine.

👀 I hear South Korea have just fired missiles in response to North Korea firing Missiles...

I get a feeling we're heading for WW3

I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like seeing your home destroyed like that...

I live in a large block of flats and it hard to think of a missile hitting this place.

PUCK FUTIN!!

I'll tell ya, it's not a trip I'd like to take again any time soon.

I was taking my dog and 4 cats with me, so trying to arrange a ride to the train station was a little stressful. Three days of aborted trips.

Finally I was give 1 hours notice. I packed a small bag of clothes quickly, another small gym bag with pet food and their dishes. Pulled all my hard drives. Packed the pets in their cages and I was off.

It took 4 hours to get from my place to an apartment near the train station because of all the barricades and checkpoints. After about 4 hours the air raid sirens sounded an all clear and a volunteer and I made a mad dash to the train station with all my stuff. Sat there for about 3 hours until they announced a train to Lviv. I managed to get on the train, but had to sit on the floor near the toilets and what usually takes 6 hours, took 12 hours. The train could only do 30km an hour because Russia has been bombing the tracks. And we travelled in total blackout conditions.

I got to Lviv and couldn't find anyone to help me with the pets and my bags. Stood in the cold for about an hour until I was able to snag a couple of volunteers. They helped me take my stuff from the platform to the street, then into the station, which was standing room only and finally got me into the platform tunnel. The street in front of the station was surreal. Tents giving out food and water, clothes. 50 gallon drums full of burning wood with people crowded around trying to keep warm.

The train to Pshemish (Poland) was on platform 24 and of course the station was platform 1. The entire tunnel was packed with people wanting to get to Poland. I was the last passenger to get on. The pets and my bags had to sit between the cars, and I had to stand about 9 hours. At one point I sat on the floor and fell asleep. We made a stop at the last town in Ukraine and had to sit there for about 3-4 hours.

We got to Pshemish Poland and they were clearing one car at a time. I was in the last car. So I was there about three hours. Finally got my stuff off the train. A volunteer helped get my stuff into the building where I cleared customs and immigration and then my pets had to go to veterinarian control. They all got updated vaccinations and Polish paperwork.

Volunteers helped me get to the platform to Warsaw and after a couple of hours I was on that train. Arrived in Warsaw at the West train station (there are 4). Volunteers helped me get to the Refugee Reception Center and after talking to a supervisor there her and her husband invited me to stay at their place that night. At that point the cats had been in their cages about 40 hours. They said the refugee camp was 500 beds on the floor of the arena and they were discouraging pets. THe next day I got put into a hotel for 4 days.

This supervisor and her husband said they knew of the perfect flat for me, and called the landlord. He was out of the city and said he would give them an answer Monday morning. He called Monday at 3pm and said he didn't want to rent the flat. In the mean time, I had to check out of the hotel at noon. So me, my bags, and the pets sat in the lobby of the hotel with nowhere to go. At 5pm her husband picked me up and said they had found a flat to go look at. I got someone to babysit the pets and my bags and left.

The landlord of that flat said he would let me know the next day. And the supervisor stuck me in her sisters flat for the night. The next morning the landlod called and said I got the flat. So that night I moved into the flat. When I unpacked I found out I had 1 shirt and 2 sweaters. I guess at some point on the three train, while I was sleeping, someone stole some of my clothes.

I got the station up and running yesterday, and tonight I was able to finish setting up the playlists and events for the news and syndicated show.

It's a pretty basic setup. I had to leave 6 computers in Kyiv as well as mixing boards, microphones, etc. So I have the broadcast computer I bought here used and my old laptop for production. I bought a cheap microphone but no mixing boards, no mail server, no external hard drive bays, etc

But at least we're safe. And I cannot say enough about the Polish people and their help. They are really going above and beyond.

Reading in a Dutch paper: War seems to be tipping over: Russia pledges to withdraw troops from Kiev.
My only thoughts is who paid the ferryman, for all the devastation that was made.

Hope Russia does what they say

All i know is the war doesn't appear to be going Russia's way, They've faced Ukrainian opposition at every turn from what I gather.

I've stopped watching the news as it was depressing me I get my updates on Twitter I follow a couple of Ukrainian media outlets.

The devastation that the Russians have caused in just over a month is awful and still it carries on just seen a video of a missile strike in #Mykolaiv State
