OK I give up. after over 20 attempts, registry cleans, reboots etc, Windows 10 will still not install My SQL. I want to install RadioDJ on my home PC to practice as the Radio station I work for uses it and I'm not totally familiar with it. However MySQL refuses to install. It hangs, disappears, and on all the occasions it never allows me to get to the page to set a password and user name. I'm at the end of my tether with it now. Help!!
I am now trying with MariaDB to see if that works but cannot find anything regarding installing RadioDJ with it.

First you need to remove MySQL completely

Follow this post to remove MySQL https://djgarybaldy.blogspot.com/2020/08/how-to-uninstall-mysql-from-windows.html

We actually recommend MariaDB becuase its easier to use and install Follow the instructions in this post

When I start Radio DJ it still says MySQL is offline. MariaDB has installed without fault as far as I can tell

Hi Gary
I have done everything that you said, performed a registry clean to make sure the last remnants of MYSQL were gone.
Installed MariaDB, Installed RadioDJ and it still won't open as it's asking for a MYSQL password. I've put the password in that I set for MariaDB but it says it's wrong and it's not.

If you haven't already done it before, in the Database Setup Utility, have you clicked on "Install Database" (green button) before starting RadioDJ? It needs a database to work with.
