Quote from: danielzugaj on March 17, 2024, 11:17:41 AMThanks for the information. I'll switch to global and see what RD will do. Tell me if I need to reset the non-standard rotation settings
As they're not working, you shouldn't need to reset them, then at least they'll be set if a future release fixes them.
(They used to work in v2.0.0.6 and up to at least v2.0.1.3).

Seems like the issue is not only on my side. :(  This topic is gaining further interest and replies, and the other one I opened in the Requests forum was deleted due to an argument between an user and a moderator. Hopefully this software issue will arrive to the developer and fix it. I don't believe it is something so difficult - a few lines of code to prioritise the custom rotation rules over global ones is not a big deal.  ::)

I discovered another issue. Just now the Global Rotation Rule for "Don't play the same artist for x minutes" also didn't work. It was set to 40 minutes - do not play the same artist and two songs by 50 Cent were played one after another, with enabled Artists Separation. It was :00 o' clock and a hour-advert jingle with a song had to be played in the program. However, I did not just make an event with a random song and the jingle to be played on top of AutoDJ, as there is a high chance the song to be repeated afterwards. So I made an event a second before this one, which disables AutoDJ and clears the playlist. Then a second later, the hour jingle with the song are added and AFTER that, AutoDJ gets enabled. This makes sense why songs cannot get repeated. But after the song by 50 Cent was played, another one was played afterwards, too. The difference here is there was one more artist, and a comma was placed right after 50 Cent's name (50 Cent, ...). Here are screenshots:

Overall, fixing these little issues on the rotations will make RadioDJ times better. I appreciate the work put in the software so far and the fact it's free!  ;D

Hi krisi, Have you got the associated artists set so that 50 Cent is in the associated artists of 50 cent, The Game? (and the other way round for the 50 Cent one, having the 50 Cent, The Game as an associated artist).
Looking at your listing, they would be treated as different artists as one having ",The Game" after it would technically make it a different artist.

Regarding your request being deleted because of someone else's argument, that's a shame if it all got deleted rather than the offending replies as we really don't know if Marius has or hasn't seen reports of bugs and I hesitate to keep posting about it, but with the amount of forum posting there's no way of knowing whether anything reported is noticed before it gets "lost" in all the other posts. That's why I was hoping for a kind of regresssion area to report a bug (especially something that used to work great in an earlier release and doesn't in newer versions) and see an acknowledgement or even a rejection if it's found to be not a bug after all, but at least we'd know it had been seen.
Someone quite a while ago suggested Mantis bug tracker. I use this as well at work and it's great because you can keep track of the status of each bug reported and answer any clarification needed on it.

As many have mentioned, this is all said with the greatest respect for Marius for providing RadioDJ free for all the great features it has and all the work that he puts in to create and improve it, but I'm sure he would want to be aware of things that used to work that get broken in newer releases.

Quote from: danielzugaj on March 16, 2024, 02:40:10 PMHello colleagues, my version of RD. it's 2.0.4.3 and I have a very similar problem. Our station broadcasts 24 hours a day, I am responsible for the sound that goes to the listeners and I listen to it all the time whenever I can and I hear that he repeats the same songs very often. When I add new tracks, it sometimes plays them up to 4 times within 12 hours. When building the rotation, I set it not to select the same song for 900 minutes = 15 hours. I tested the settings on Least Recently Played and Least Times Played and nothing helps. Am I making a mistake somewhere? I will also write that the rotation consists of 13 music categories + 13 jingles between songs. Thank you for any help
Sorry for my English, ::)  this is our station www.naszeradiouk.com

I have 16500 songs playing randomly or by automatic do and still run into the same situation. I have checked the rules adjusted them so same song can't play for 90 minutes, same artist can't play for 60 minutes etc but songs still repeat and within the hour of the rule restriction...frustrating

Try to create a Playlist from the Track Rotation in Playlist Builder and let us know if artists are repeating themselves. 1 or 2 hour playlist should be fine i think for a test.

I know @kiwi had reported that Playlist from Track Rotation in PBuilder was limited to 60 min.    So I tried your suggestion and by adding 1 hour then repeating for 2 hours and they where IDENTICAL (What was put in for the first hour was just added to the second hour of the list in RadioDJ 2045 :'(

That is correct @Vanlen.

Been an issue for a few versions of RadioDJ. I guess we get the duplicate because nothing has played and depending on your "Selection Type" in Track Rotation, the query will repeat itself. There was a time when you could create an unlimited rotation in Playlist Builder but I believe this made RadioDJ crash. I would like to see at least a 2 hour option with a max of 4 hours. I have placed a request to Marius.
