Port Forwarding Issue

Hi

So I'm trying to configure the WordPress song request plugin and I'm getting a Connection refused error when verifying my database connection.

My web server is remote and RadioDJ is running on my home PC.

I've port forwarded port 3306 to port 8000 in my router as you can see my screenshot and also opened up relevant ports on the windows firewall.

I've also setup a new user for the database via HeidiSQL but still the issue persists.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You dont appear to grasp how port forwarding works

You need port 3306 to be open on your computer and you also need the "same port" on your router pointing to the machine running the SQL database

Port 8000 is a shoutcast port not an SQL port

So does port 3306 need to be open where my wordpress website is hosted?

Also which port would you recommend to open other than port 8000 to forward to 3306?

Also I could just reinstall mariaDB and change the port number to something else other than 3306?

Hi

I've opened port 80 and forwarded it to 3306 and is working now.

Yes your WordPress host needs to allow external connection on port 3306

A lot of hosts don't allow that port but some do you have to do your research one Google

Message a host to ask if the allow port 3306 before you sign up to any service

Glad to hear it... Are you able to make requests?
