Rename Commercials in Category and subcategory fields

Hi Team,

Can I rename Commercials in the Category and Subcategory fields without breaking anything ?

As a Community Radio Station, we are not allowed Ads or Commercials as they must have the work "Sponsor" or "Sponsors" in the track, plus we are encouraged to refer to them as "Sponsorships" and "Sponsors".

I fear that RadioDJ may break by treating renamed Commercials as normal tracks and not one of the special track types.

Also, associated with this, can the "Fade In / Out" and "Next Track" be able to be cancelled on these tracks when importing please ?
Still have provision for them, sure, but not automatically applied ?
I can disable "Auto-Fade" but I cannot cancel the "Next Track" points.

May not be wise to change the default categories. Why not create a new category "Sponsors" and add subcategories within it?

As for the importing of tracks you can disable the Silence Remover (click on the "Active" box to disable). This is found under Options/AutoDJ. Remember to re-activate the Silence Remover if you want it to apply to other tracks.  You may have to re-start RadioDJ after this action.

Strange question, surely it is the radio spot itself, in which Sponsorship is mentioned.
The location of the radio spot under radio DJ does not matter.
If necessary, create a subcategory "Sponsor" under commercials.
As for importing, you don't have 1000 sponsors anyway, small effort to neatly edit some sponsor radio spots (Fade out at 0.00).
The "Next Start" is something you always need, to start the next track.
Silence remover "OFF" I don't recommend, the silences at the beginning of your radio spot will be included, and then you have to edit anyway.

You CAN rename the category and subcategory using the database table editor.

You CANNOT change the Track Type from the value "Commercial" (Value=4)

Thanks Steve - I will do this and leave the track type strictly alone :)
