Sad Day But Its Got To Happen.

Hi All,

Having spent so much time, effort and a considerable sum of cash I have to part with my Internet Radio kit, Due to family circumstances (again) I will have no time to proceed with my dream of starting a radio station for the next few years.

So the question is: Where to sell the kit ? ebay wants roughly 15% and facebook marketplace is quickly becoming a joke with all the scammers. Do any of you guys know any reliable and trustworthy sites to sell it all on.

Apart from Ebay you should look into some marketplace popular in UK or post your radio stuff here. Maybe somebody could be interested in buying them. Good luck!

Hi, Thanks for replying.

I did look at eBay & Facebook Market place, but eBay charge a fortune these days to sell and Facebook seems to have a lot of scam attempts. I really dont want to get into issues like that. I havent found anywhere else that I have used and could trust that would have folks on there interested in this kind of equipment.

I did think of this forum but was unsure as there is no For Sale section, I did not want to anger anyone by posting in any wrong forum and getting it deleted and any possible ban hence my first message.

I don't know how Marius would feel about it but I'd have no objection with you posting an topic in the Radio Talk section. As you're a genuine person.

It's sad that you're having to sell your equipment.

Don't look for that on Ebay or facebook marketplace anyway.
On Facebook, there are hundreds of groups where things are for sale or requested locally.
Publish that in there.
Search groups with for sale + your city or location.

Having lost 4 members of family to Cancer I fully understand your situation

Cancer is a bastard I lost my brother in April to pancreatic cancer

Thanks Gary, after spending nearly 10 years caring for Mum who had Alzheimer's this is another kick in the gut, but hey ho' this too will pass. Thanks for caring mate.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a buy/sell thread in the forums. I'm sure most of us have bits of kit kicking around

Hi RFU, I get what your saying as I struggled with where to list my stuff..Facebook ?..too many scammers...eBay ? fees are a lot these days and also a lot of scammers. Thats why I asked the mods on this forum as I trust that I would not get scammed on here, many,many genuine and radio centered folks on here so i trust it.

The only problem I see as with a lot of forums is "who is to blame/be held responsible if a deal goes bad or a member is scammed", I understand I'm shooting myself in the foot a bit here but so many forms I have been on have had issues, I just hoped that while asking for permission to place my stuff on here that the scammers havent registered this forum as a place to do people over.

Other forums absolutely do not now take responsibility for anything and they are now making that perfectly clear in the T & C's. That might make it work on here but im not suggesting or encouraging anything.
