Best workflow for rotation-based live show with fixed items?

Hi all,

I'd like to prepare a daily live radio show of 1 hour, with some music, a number of fixed items such as local news, 2 or 3 traffic reports, and some obvious IDs, ramps or beds where we can talk through etc.

The idea is to have as few preparation as possible, and a playlist should look like this:
- ID
- 1 song from rotation
- Bed (for DJ to open show etc)
- Traffic (variable duration file)
- ID
- 2 songs from rotation
- local news (variable duration file)
...

I'd figure creating a playlist by hand each day would cost time each day, but doing all in a rotation isn't exactly uiser-friendly if someone needs to make some changes.

What do you suggest would be the best workflow here? Could Events be of some help here? (I'm not experienced with those)
