Quote from: Marius on May 26, 2025, 07:42:21 PMChange of plans, i will not create an app to debug, because i have a clue what's going on, but i need to research a bit more,
My code that lists the sound cards didn't changed recently, so it's either a bass engine modification, either a windows change.
With the same version of rdj in direct sound (which is in the free version) my HDMI monitor is not displayed at all, but when i switch to WASAPI, the monitor is displayed.
Regarding the names, especially what's displayed as "default", that is reported by OS. I still have to debug it more deeply to see what's going on.

Marius, i wish you lots of success finding the problem, i respect the energy you put in it,HIGHLY RESPECTED , then it is all for FREE!!.
AS you talk about free version , is there also a paid version ? , any info where i can find

@ISTFM63 thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately that doesn't solve the issue when not displaying some outputs, just removes the "Default" output and displays its name.

As you can see, the LG monitor output is completely missing in direct sound mode.

No this is incorrect. I reported the issue on Windows 10.
Under 2.0.4.5 all was OK. I don't know about 2.0.4.7 as I skipped that version.

@Marius if it's of any help, as a test I only replaced RadioDJ.exe with the old one (2.0.4.5) and then my soundcards are displayed correctly.

Have any of you considered Voicemeeter as your default sound card you can set that to play out from your normal soundcard

I use the default input in VM to pickup the signal from RadioDJ the out to the encoder/Bluetooth

Just a suggestion

I use Voiceeeter to control my Bluetooth speaker output and I'm happy with it

No I didn't. I myself have no bluetooth audio devices. All audio interfaces I work with are within the RodeCaster (in total 3 USB audio devices). I use VB-Audio Virtual Cables only if I want to record / monitor SteroTool's processed output signal. I try to keep the number of used (virtual) devices and software tools as low as possible.

UPDATE: After I swapped my system drive for a bigger one (cloned the old system drive) and had to re-connect everyting, Windows started enumrating my USB-devices (thus also my Rodecaster's audio devices) and from there, my 3 Rodecaster sound devices are visible again in RDJ.

This time however, my VB-Audio virtual cables are no longer available in the sound devices within RDJ. For me that's no problem as I wasn't using these within RDJ, but I guess there's soe kind of relation between the enumerated USB devices and the way they are detected in RDJ.

- Is there any limitation in the number of sound devices RDJ detects?

For now I cannot reproduce the issue, but I'm still interested to learn what happeened.

i  read another article on this chat and caused by the bass.dll ,  i found an old bass.dll on internet replaced this and i was able to see the sound card that i was using.  For sure reason i renamed the orginal file to bass.old, in case of i could always use my orginal file. For me it worked

Janus24

I've seen that post as well, but I couldn't get it fixed with the bass.dll versions I found.

Neither am I too fond of 'just replacing' a DLL with a version that is about 10 years old. Probably there is a reason why there actually are newer bass DLLs out there. I hope @Marius can comment on this when he as the time.

UPDATE: Looks like this really has to do with the enumeration of USB devices in Windows.

You see, I've got a new motherboard with various USB controllers (USB2.0, 3.1 and 3.2). In the mainboard manual MSI claims some USB ports are controlled by/via the CPU, others by/via the chipset.
My audio interfaces (the Rodecaster Pro II with its 3 audio interfaces) are connected via a USB hub. When re-connecting stuff I acceidentally used another USB port on my PC and then all 3 audio devices were detected, but suddenly my VB-AUDIO virtual cables driver was gone. Connecting to another USB-port, one of my audio interfaces was gone, but in return my virtual cables were available again.

So, something in the way / sequence of enumerating USB devices. This morning I upgraded to Windows 11, and now my audio interfaces are reported incorrectly again.
